S&B meets country walk mark II

K is a super genius :)

Thank you eme as well, I'm so pleased that I can come! The jam is packed!

See you all later!

(oh Ms T I can show you the cast on thing, but be warned it is a total headache. It is the hardest part of the pattern though so once you've done that bit, you should be away!)

Yay!

I feel like murder - stayed up until 3 in the morning last night

No bike - getting it to Euston was fraught with potential disaster but I have my boots and waterproof coat for walking!

I'm excited now and that helps the hangover :)

ditto - was far too late when we got home and many beers were drunk... am now staggering about trying to remember what to bring and all I can think of is wool! (or is that what my brain feels like) hey ho... am bring bike as long as fits in the boot!

Yay!
see you all later...
:D

Had a fab time (and bought far too much wool!).... Just a big up to the lady GG for sorting it all out! Here's to next year and Holmfirth...

:D

.....what's Holmfirth?

I was thinking maybe next year we could have an expedition to climb the knitted bunny :D

I had a great time, have made some progress on my first scarf but still got a long way to go - we need to have a proper stitch and bitch soon!

s'where Rowan lives... yes lets meet up again soon....

:)

Another big thank you to gaijingirl.

I knitted another six rows of my shrug last night. Only went wrong twice!

Yes - the vest is embryonic at the moment but I am knitting quite a bit so hurray for that!

I liked our steam engine ride the best :) Even though it smelled funny...

My scarf is coming along apace!! Found out that my poofs are exactly the right size for skein to ball conversion duties!! I had a lovely weekend and also particularly liked the train ride.. it made me feel all happy and glowy and like one of the railway children.... or something...

Must meet up soon though!!

Ms T!... good for you.... we were saying on the train on the way back that there would be no way you'd actually give up on your shrug!!

Also forgot to say that K said he had a lovely time. He enjoyed just chilling out and reading his book, going on the steamtrain but most of all, he enjoyed being surrounded by lots of lovely ladies!! :D

I can't find my cable to upload my photos... :(

I can't let that statement go without explanation

The poofs (seaty things) I bought in Tunisia are round and exactly the same diameter as a skein of wool when opened out and therefore perfect for wrapping said skein around (instead of round a pair of hands/two chair backs) in order to unravel and re-ravel (as it were) into a ball! :D

*weeps*

GUTTED

*sniffles into hanky*

on the plusses
1 - I would have spent the rest of my redundancy on wool
2 - I did have a peaceful chilled alcohol free weekend
3 - if I hadn't had kept you awake with my sleep howling / walking, the coughing would have

almost managed convinced myself

Glad you all had an aces time *said through clenched teeth*

Do I owe anyone any pennies?

Nope.. the bunkhouse was fab.... although it sleeps 11 and there were only 8 of us, we were only charged per person rather than for the whole bunkhouse!!! So no money owed!!

shame you weren't there but it sounds like you had a good weekend! :)

this was a fantastic weekend... i am still smiling about a couple of quotes that where made and thinking of of us going completly bonkers in the colinette shop (buying wool like there was no tomorrow..staying in there for 2 hours..).

i am getting on alright with my golden scarf although it has to be said that it turned quite individual as the length increases, sometimes it is thiner sometimes wider...i guess i will have to keep it for myself once it is finished  ;)

nice photos :D

mrs t i still have your 8 needles i will bring them to the next s&b same with innit, ok?

thanks for organising to gg and to hendo for driving us around a bit. i have to say the next time though i would want to take bikes...the weather was alright besides a bad forecast.

Yeah - my vest has got its first big mistake in it - I seem to have dropped a stitch and didn't notice until I was about 5 rows past it. I'm going to try and sew it in so it doesn't get any worse I think!

I was looking at chutney recipes yesterday - are people still up for that one? Some take longer than others and there's a very seasonal cranberry one we could all keep for Christmas? Anyway - have a look and I'll thread up if there's interest - we could knit at the same time as well.

All these recipes bang on about preserving pans - I assume we just ignore that and use the biggest pan we can find?

sounds good pyiEye, whatever chutney really as long as i can learn something ;) btw i have got some fun photos too...i will try to upload soon..

naww.. don't sew it in - it's easy to pick up stitches w/ a crochet hook - I had to do this last night, stitch had slipped down 3 rows....
I can show you tomorrow if you meet me for lunch....
:)

preserving pan = the biggest pan you have!

ps Innit IOU $10 - will give to to editor to give you tonight if you're pubbing..
I, alas, am not....

Cranberry pickle sounds great.... would also make a great stocking filler... at this rate between the knitting and the chutneying I won't have to actually buy any gifts!! :)

...great plan for a cheap xmas! Does anyone know where we would get the cranberies from though? on second thoughts I guess they mean dried cranberries. What a good christmas present they would make!

I need to talk to my mum about potential sloe picking expedition too (unless anyone else knows any good sloe spots) as sloe gin would fit in to the crafty xmas theme very well!

I'm definately up for this one. we'd have to ghet a cheap source of cranberries though, they can be damn expensive.

Sloe gin, sloe gin, sloe gin..

(you've seen me and my gin!!)

There are other chutneys and pickles on there, mind - and I reckon it's a seasonal feeling condiment anyway - all the spices and whatnot.

We could do a cheaper/easier to find one.
