Post-funk munchies from this weekend. :D

The pies are Mince & Mealie & Steak.

How much yeast would you use if you have the dry stuff?? I don't want to have to go into the town to try and buy fresh yeast when I don't know where to even start.

Mince n mealie pie? Never seen that one before??
Butteries are ace, my mates have learned that it is essential along with Irn Bru and tattie scones to be packed in their luggage before they are allowed to visit!
Could go a haggis supper now though...

I made some rowies today. I think I left them a wee bit too long but they didn't look totally cooked.
Taste fine though :)
Next time I'm going to make sure I have enough of all the right ingredients though and scales that definetly work properly

Looking good! Wanted to try my hand at making them for a while now, was it easy enough, any good tips?

And on an up and up note, i'm flying back to the grunite city in only 6 hours
First stop Chalmers of Bucksburn...

It was easy enough. I used the dough function of the breadmaker though, more for the rise for 1 hr bit tbh, so I wouldn't forget, and coz I don't really have a warm place to put the dough.

I think next time I try it I'll do the 3rd bit properly rather than letting the machine mix it.

Stroober pm me your address and I'll see what I can do. It'll not be real Aberdeen ones, it'll Morrisons ones I'm afraid.

I recognise that tea caddy :D

Hubby has just said 'F***s sake is that cheesy toast AND pies'. I said 'Naw, it's a cheesy rowie and a mealie pie and possibly a steak one'
That pastry looks yummy.

They do also do macaroni & a whole lot of other pies in there as well.

Also proper macaroni & cheese & stovies. :)

Has to be Bean and Tatties pies

*drools*

last time i was up at the beginning of the month i bought 3kg of smoked haddock from fraserburgh to take down toe the kids in London.......

next time you're up could you pop in to zanres chipper in peterhead and pick me up some of their fishcakes please? ;)

Zanre's do truly excellent mealie puddings n'all.

I may have to arrange a pilgrimage there (or most probably Mintlaw) over the weekend, what with this being national chip week. :)

Or Bervie for a haggis pudding supper maybe.

Or Dufftown for a scampi supper.

Or Pitmedden

Choices, choices. :D

I have fond memories of standing outside zanre's of a saturday night, eating either fishcake or smoked sausage supper, watching the fights and waiting to find out who's having a party :D

I think you should go somewhere different each night pogofish :D

Nah each week, with a few gym sessions in between. :D

Mind you, after my dental visit tomorrow, I may be off solid food for a couple of days. :(

ETA, The Ashvale is doing two fish suppers for a fiver just now.

i had an ashvale last night mmmmm fishy

i will be passing through the mighty mintlaw on the was back fae the broch on sat.....
