Soon I shall be preparing breakfast.

Butteries, more butter, and cheese. Grilled. Mmmmmm :)

By the way, what's the easiest way to slice butteries open? I can never manage a good job ....

This thread has been an education.I spent the first 22 years of my life in Aberdeen before I escaped and never realised that there was a difference between rowies and butteries.I thought they were just two different names for the same object.
Looking forward to investigating next time I go back up. :)

Hahahahahahahaha!!! :D Are they butteries or rowies?? Either way you'll need a sharp knife.

They're butteries. Can't find proper rowies down here :(

What I have been doing is grilling them a bit to soften them up, then slicing them. Messy business, though.

Err, if you need to put something between them. Don't slice, use two instead!

Sliced rowies, the very thought of it! :D

Just back from a good concert. Via the late-night bakers, with a big bag of rowies, pancakes & a pie.

Bliss! :D

Someday I'm going to have to venture into the hinterlands of the north to try these seemingly wonderful delights

I'm still wondering what they are?!? :(

That was for the benefit of Terry Wogan who is on some sort of anti-rowie vendetta on his radio show. They want him to bid for it to make up for referring to god's own pastry as lardy seaweed...

And to think he's paid £800,000 a year.
£800,000 a year for playing records and talking shite.I could do that
