Too easy. Waay too easy. How many more examples do you need:

Hypergamy isn't only a matter of income. As I said, the status that attracts women can take many and various forms.

so basically, you're defining hypergamy as women getting to choose for themselves, using a definition so broad that it can cover literally anyhting other than arranged marriage.

tbh, given my own choice, i'll go for the status 'treats me like an actual proper person'. that comes under your uniquely wide definition, but not under the more commonly accepted definition.

basically, you're engaging in a delightful bit of building your own goal as wide as the pitch so as to try to make this crackpot theory of yours fit reality.

Are there seriously no men that go for stuff like money or the ability to cook dinners for them when they get old or look after them when they are ill, manage their taxes etc? I think reasons like that are a big part of why some older men go for younger women. Its not just looks.

Yes, there are plenty of men who find such things attractive. But not sexually attractive.

Oooooooooooooooh I dunno lets ask people who do know. Women, for example. Or are we men absolutely telling women what they find sexually attractive now?

Members of both genders have been known to be economical with the truth when it comes to what they find sexually attractive.

For example, quite a few feminist men will swear up and down that they never consider a woman's looks as a criterion of sexual attraction. They lie.

I've never met anyone, male or female who says they dont consider looks at least part of whether they find someone attractive.

What definition of sexually attractive (particularly of women) are you using?

and a lot of women say that kind of thing to men as well.

dosen't mean it's true then either

Seriously?

Are you seriously going to claim that looks are as important to women as they are to men? Come on. I won't say that they are completely insignificant to women, but they matter far more to men.

Can we agree on that? Good. Now: why do you think that is?
