Ron DeSantis' Time is Up

PragerU, a far-right advocacy group, recently announced that its educational materials had been approved for use in the state of Florida. Test your knowledge to see if you can pass a PragerU class.

DeSantis cannot be consigned to the dustbin. of history soon enough for my liking:

Tweet's gone. Can we please stop relying on Mr Apartheid Blood Emerald's personal fashy shitposting site as a technically reliable means of conveying information? The prick fired most of the engineering staff.

I wouldn't put it past Musk/Xitter to disable embedding for certain accounts.
I can see it on here. I'm thinking that it may be people who are either not signed up to Twitter or not signed in when trying to view the tweet who are having issues.

No I'm signed in and can't see it unless i click through. There's been some weirdness today with people posting twitter links, somethings broken.

This is a book on childrearing that Prager U recommends.

If this is how you were raised, it would be no wonder if you grew up all messed up.

hadn't heard of it, but here's a morsel from the authors

"On his website, Pearl published responses to the deaths of Hana Williams and Lydia Schatz, listing quotes from the book that warn against abuse.[21][22] Michael Pearl reacted to the death of Lydia Schatz by arguing his link to the murder of Schatz was not objectionable because Pearl's children became "entrepreneurs that pay the taxes your children will receive in entitlements" "

excuse me while I put my fist through a wall.

That anyone would dare make a trolling comment like that after what happened to those two poor girls (and their siblings) is truly disgusting. One also notes that the Pearls appear to run their own church, so presumably do not pay taxes themselves.

This piece from a former House rep in Florida (Anthony Sabatini) suggests his own side can't see what's being gained, but a particular line rose my eyebrow:
We conservatives in the Legislature were excited to be fighting back against the woke, globalist company that had been hurling highly politicised attacks at our new Parent’s Rights Bill, also being passed in the Legislature that month.
The rot's going pretty deep when you've got a senior politico using blatant anti-Semitic dogwhistles in what (just about) still counts as a broadsheet.

Quinn Mitchell has seen at least 35 presidential candidates in person since 2019, when he first started showing up at New Hampshire primary events to ask them questions.

Not a single one of them had ever treated the now-15-year-old as if he were a threat—until Ron DeSantis came to town.

It all started with a straightforward question. In June, when DeSantis stopped for a town hall event in Hollis, Mitchell raised his hand in the crowd.

better to make your citizens suffer than meet with an icky democrat

Presidential trips to disaster zones are usually tightly coordinated with local and state leaders so as to not interrupt the response and recovery, making the contretemps between the White House and governor’s mansion all the more notable. For instance, Biden waited to fly to Maui until Hawaii Gov. Josh Green told him that a trip to view damage from wildfires would not take away from recovery efforts .

I don't know which is worse: that idiot, the buffoons he surrounds himself with or the fuckwits who see what he's doing, think to themselves "yes, I'd like more of that but worse" and return him to office...
