Ron DeSantis' Time is Up

Yuwipi Woman

Whack-A-Mole Queen
It looks like he's planning to run for President in 2022. It isn't enough to fuck up Florida, he has to ruin the rest of the country too. He's already making campaign appearances around the country and he's raising massive amounts of money.

His record on education is abysmal:

His record of LGBTQ issues is worse:

I started this thread so we can keep a watchful eye on him and see what happens over the next couple of years.

Looks like:

From the friendly confines of his New Jersey and Florida homes, the former president has indeed been keeping his watchful eye trained on DeSantis and the governor’s blossoming national celebrity status among the conservatives. The twice-impeached ex-president is still the clear leader of the Republican Party, and the polling favorite to win the 2024 presidential nomination, should he formally declare his intention to seek it.

But as DeSantis’ clout has grown among Republican voters, right-wing media stars, and GOP leaders and mega-donors, Trump has privately voiced anger over DeSantis’s supposed lack of gratitude and refusal to rule out challenging the former president in 2024.

Trump and DeSantis have sniped at the other in public, each without specifically naming the other. DeSantis criticized the Trump administration for measures aimed at “locking down the country” at the dawn of the COVID-19 pandemic, while appearing on the conservative “Ruthless” podcast earlier this year. For his part, the ex-president had gone on the incredibly pro-Trump TV channel OAN to strongly suggest that DeSantis was “gutless.” Both Trump and DeSantis have tried to publicly downplay the budding feud as a supposed invention of the news media.

he wasted no time, pitching straight into the rightwing wheelhouse.

A good friend of mine moved to Miami from Mexico City, and I had thought I might visit him there at some point, but fuck that. It's now on the list with Mississippi etc as a place I've no desire to go.

it's not going well for them

Worth the Democratic states waiting until (if ever) there's a sane majority on the Supreme Court and then suing the cunt for food & accommodation until they get settled.

Looks like DeSantis is recruiting his spokespeople and everybody else in his disgusting administration from the biggest shitheads he can find in Facebook comments.

Christina Pushaw, a spokesperson for Mr DeSantis' re-election campaign, said Martha's Vineyard should be "thrilled". "They vote for sanctuary cities - they get a sanctuary city of their own. And illegal aliens will increase the town's diversity, which is strength. Right?"

"Own the libs" of course. Its all playing to his base. When the inevitable confusion happens, he can say "look, the libs don't want them either."
Yeah, that's clearly his short-term goal, but long term? The locals scrambled to accommodate them so if showing up the hypocracy of wealthy 'lib' areas is the goal, he kinda failed on that score...? Plus for some reason the BBC have changed the article :hmm:

I think it's a bit ill conceived. We have a shortage of workers in a lot of industries. Give them a green card and take jobs that are going unfilled.

To be fair, neither have the Democrats.
Yep. You've only got to look at their PAC's pumping money into MAGA nutjob primary campaigns to see but one example. Surely they'd have learned their lesson on that front from how the 2016 GE panned out for them and the rest of us...
