recommend me something lush & ambient

I got it from the We Are Robots site, but check out .thejass' soundcloud as he played at Space in Ibiza for six hours (of all places! Think Richie Hawtin got him in) last summer and some of it is up there.
Hang on, I'll find it for you

Oh, and I've recently discovered the old Biosphere album Substrata which is just lovely. Instant classic. Love the bit with the Major's dream soliloquy from Twin Peaks

Probably the longest time I've ever waited for a question to be answered on U75 but thanks! :D

I discovered lots of music from this thread first time round so I think it's time for a bump. Anyone got anything new to recommend? I still get emails from machinefabriek but he releases so much it's difficult to keep up!

For my part I can heartily recommend 'Portland Vows - Living With Animals'... I suspect the OP is already aware of it though :)

Just had a listen to Portland Vows - great stuff....

Good to see the re-appearance of this thread!

I've not been submerged in so much of this music of late - one album from last year that I listened to endlessly though was 'Where all is fled' by Steve Hauschildt from Emeralds. So good....

I noticed that Wolfgang Voigt (of Gas) is playing at Tusk festival in October btw, so I presume there'll be some other dates crop up shortly. Or just go to Tusk, it's brilliant.

not strictly ambient, but a lot of stuff on here isn't tbf...some albums not mentioned yet

Jon Hopkins' early stuff: Contact Note and Insides

Susumu Yokota - Sakura

Fragile State - Voices from A Dust bowl

Motohiro Nakshima - and I went to sleep

Irresistible Force, obvs

heh, been listening to the Fripp and Eno stuff a bit lately as well

this is two 20 odd minute slabs of loveliness...
Chris Herbert - Katushki on Low Point who just put out a new Ex Easter Island Head thing too

Seeing Ex-Easter Island Head this weekend at Sin Eater... looking forward to it.

This is my eldest's bedtime music atm minus track 3 and another one she finds spooky. She has trouble sleeping, hasn't responded well to meditation cds and the like in the past, but likes electric counterpoint, I think the rhythm holds her, and this works well too.

This would be my ambient chill out stuff, with a bit of smoochy tempo Real World Records

I've recently taken delivery of the files for the next album, should be out early next year... in the meantime there's a track on a sampler I'm releasing next week too - I've put it up on soundcloud - sounds like a real step up to me:
Listen to Portland Vows - Mobile by concretetapes #np on #SoundCloud
