recommend me something lush & ambient

Listening to this outstanding album by Ulla Straus right now - lovely stuff

Also taking the A-side of this release, in a more minimalist vein

Hey braindancer I spotted that Pan American is in the UK for a few dates in April (Cafe Oto on 21st, other dates in Brighton and Todmorden) and Steve Hauschildt is touring in March.

I had these guys Marconi Union get in touch about some dates - they sound good (I'm not sure how I've missed them before too, they seem to have a long and fairly heavyweight pedigree...)

Thanks for the tips

I don't live far from Brighton so I'll definitely try and catch Pan American.

Saw Steve Hauschildt at Oto a few months ago which was ace - so I don't think can justify another trip to London for him....

I've not heard Marconi Union either - will give them a whirl....

really into this mix today (Spaceship's own stuff is pretty good too)

Alison Cotton - The Last Sense to Leave Painted in
Shadows - If You Destroy Fear
High Aura’d - All the Spirits that Dance
Hannah Peel - Life is on the Horizon
Matthew Shaw - Among the Never Setting Stars
The Leaf Library - High Light
Ursula K. Le Guin - Long Singing
The Sly and Unseen - Cold Wind on Erringden Moor
Preston Field Audio - River Phase
Michael Tanner - A Sussex Nocturne: Southease
Julia Wolfe - LAD: 1
Spaceship - The Stones Speak of Short Lives
Richard Skelton - Threads Across the River

Picked up a few bits from Blue Tapes, who're selling off loads of their back catalogue for £3 a cassette atm - this from Sam Mullany is just glorious.

Omformer- Return to gravity (ambient but quite pacey, can't find on YT).
Here.....

Thought the other side was totally meh.

Emeralds were a big thing at the start of this thread huh? I just saw a load of archive / live / unreleased stuff of there's is about to drop at the start of May on their new bandcamp - nothing to hear yet but worth keeping an eye on...

Boomkat put me on to this 'lost classic' released 20 years ago and just re-released... never heard of 'pub' before but it's super nice...

Sounds great and what a currently, frustrating, 'take me there, immediately' name for an act. I know it's 20 yrs old, though.

Just pre-ordered this new tape from David Colohan from United Bible Studies - lovely mix of burbling synths & minimal piano.

Jake Muir's new album on Sferic is very very nice.....

A psychedelic map of ASMR rattles, drones and tones melting in-and-out of the night with the heaving intensity of an open window on a busy city street, lubricating familiar rumbles with sensual tones, mirroring the blurry high of a low-light encounter. :D

a friend has turned me on to this - i hadnt head of him before, Jon Hassell - 1960s onwards US trumpet player - this from 2009
like in a silent way but with more silent!!
Last Night the Moon Came Dropping Its Clothes in the Street

The Message of Xmas
Chassol

“This music evokes the feeling of going outside at Christmas, of walking on the snow carpet where the sound of footsteps is muffled,” explains Chassol. With the choir of the Orchestre de Paris, the French composer and musician from the conservatory propels us into the Christmas spirit, a magical and warm atmosphere where the cold disappears thanks to the music.

Listen here.
