recommend me something lush & ambient

I'm really happy with it - it's a real progression from the first album. I love Paper and Applications the most, but there's lots to love throughout.

A few things I've been enjoying recently.

Premonition Factory - The Sense of Time
Sarah Davachi - Dominions
M. Geddes Gengras - Interior Architecture
Rapoon - Song from The End of The World
Svarte Greiner - Moss Garden
Keith Fullerton Whitman - Playthroughs
O Yuki Conjugate - Northbound: Music for Season One
Compound Eye - Journey from Anywhere

My man Polypores has a new album out on Polytechnic Youth - real nice

(you might also like this EP we put out for him last month too)

Kit Records have their entire catalogue as pay what you like / free for today only - some great stuff on there (not all lush & ambient, but in that area I suppose)

This new piece from Claire M Singer on Touch is exquisite. Could listen to it all day... Organ drones. Mmmmmmm.

Never come across her before but will definitely be listening to her other stuff.

Ahhh this Eric Malmberg album "den gåtfulla människan" is finally available on line, I got the cd when it came out (in the early 00s) after hearing it on WFMU. All Hammond, absolutely beautiful from start to finish

I've just put out a couple of new cassettes today, including a new Portland Vows album which is super-good. They both are tbf.

Love Not Waving, been meaning to check out the new one...

I've picked up a shitload of great ambient tapes recently: some have been posted in the new releases thread, but I'll post 'em here too.

This Precipitation album is gorgeous:

this London label/night New Atlantis have three new releases out this week, this is the best of them (although they're all great).

And this one is just perfect

Thanks for those - that's my working at home listening sorted for the day!

Do listen to the new Not Waving - it's seriously good shit.

Ordered this tape of lush Japanese neo-new age ambient stuff this morning

thats really lovely
have you got anything else of a similiar buzz? the couple of other releases on that label weren't quite as bubbling to my ears
*nice for winter...good for my blood pressure too tbh

yay the portland vows stuff is always top level bliss. It is perfect for the tape format. what/who is/are they?
It's one person, a guy my girlfriend was at uni with 20 years ago - when he heard I was starting the label he sent me some bits he'd been working on and it was a no-brainer really.

He's also a senior lecturer in philosophy at Aberdeen University fwiw.

woah did you sell out the whole first batch in 2 days?! looks like you are going to need a bigger tape duplicating machine.

I got the blue and yellow handmade waxed cotton bag lino print insert version still... tbh i prefer the normal old plastic cases that fit on shelves with all the other cassettes really, but if handmade waxed cotton bags make them sell out in days then you got to do them.

Can't argue with the sales stats, but I do sympathise with your preference for a tidy shelf.

For double cassettes these are the fellows to use for me:

anyway worry off topic

Just received the blue and yellow press in the post, I must say that the packaging is totally lush despite my reservations against non-standard cases... it fits in the space of a normal cassette on the shelf too so all good. awesome release again

Nice one - glad you like it.

this new (to me at least) band seem to fit this thread quite nicely - kind of a peaceful, languorous vibe, but maybe a bit best of ibiza chill out vol 43 for some?...
