RAF intercept Russian plane over Kent, explosion heard

Aliens actually visited Kent a few years back. They replaced all the commuters in Ashford with monosyllabic clone minions.

So far nobody has really noticed. The only observable difference is a reduction in the amount of casually racist banter on the early train into St Pancras.

I take it you've never been to Sittingbourne?

Wouldn't it be Badgers in the uk?
Badgers love mashed potato possibly not the best war cry ever:hmm::D

The remake was going to be rhe chinese them the film makers got nervous so used computers to make all the bad guys look lke north koreans. Who knew gritty resistance fighters all look like hollister models :)

Cargo planes like that don't travel at supersonic speeds.

e2a: I guess it was probably the fighters going supersonic. They must've been gutted it was a false alarm, when was the last time the RAF got to shoot something down in an air-to-air engagement?

Questionable. Officially a egyptian spitfire in 48 after they attacked an RAF base thinking it was an israeli base.
Though several RAF pilots flying with the US forces in Korea got air to air victories.
Might have shot down an Indonesian hercules in 64 no official confirmation though.
Some RAF pilots flew sea harriers in the falklands so might be able to count some those. Though in 82 they did accidently shoot down a jaguar
with a phantom in west germany. Then in the 91 gulf war a buccaneer dropped a bomb on an iraq mig as it took off.

That was Tornado GR1 ZA447 'Mig Eater'.

There's also Javelin vs Indonesian C-130 and Hunter vs Indonesian MiG-17 in the 60s which are probably more true than not.

RAF pilots have also had AA kills while serving with the Israeli, South African, Jordanian and Saudi air forces to my knowledge - there's probably more.

The desire to break the duck is immense. On Operation North Watch we were all prepared run out of fuel chasing bandits all the way to Baghdad if necessary then eject and walk home if that's what it took. What it was to have a fresh set of 25 year old balls...
