Paralympics Chit Chat

someinenhhanding menbag and me ah bollox
for anything really.

What have you learned about the paralympics that you weren't aware of before, any programmes you've found or that others may want to watch that are showing, paralympians to watch, stories about paralympians, gossip etc., Channel 4 coverage, anything!

Anyone seen the advert (Meet the Superhumans)?

I was not aware of Paralympions with spinal issues twisting their testicles, deliberately catheterising their bladders to cause pain, breaking their toes with hammers and other dubious practices to raise their blood pressure and get strength advantages.

Meanwhile, betting bored of Twitter

Why are people Tweeting "why have they put the Olympic flame out when the paralympics hasn't even started?" and other questions that if they googled, they'd find the answer for in the time it took them to tweet

I got a ticket to the Saturday evening athletics! I've already been to the basketball and athletics (Saturday evening again) at the Olympics. :D

This Paralympics is expected to be BIG. 2.5 million tickets available (more than any previous one), the most highly attended ever, and the first ever sell out!

I didn't go for any outdoor events in case the weather turned shit :D

Yes I know, they'd only appeared that day and sold out within hours

Wheelchair rugby used to be called "murderball" - it's well fucking violent!

Clashes with my goalball session but hoping to get into earlier session but I reckon everyone's going to be wanting to get to that and as it's pretty much a first-come, first-served basis (unless you've got tickets), I'm not holding out too much hope of getting in

I'm fairly high up so I will probably be under the roof (which isn't there to keep spectators dry btw). I might try for something else too; my brother has asked me to get something for him as well.

Demand is very high! They are releasing more every day though (doesn't seem to have been any today though).

Not so much bothered about the rain, more the cold!

They're releasing 100,000 before kick off and another 100,000 during the Games

It was actually fairly chilly in the Stadium when I went last time, even though it was/had been a nice warm day.

Well don't think it's going to get much warmer :D

Doesn't look like any tickets have been released since 5.00am on 24th, so I reckon there's be some soon

You following the alert on Twitter? That's how I managed to nab my tickets

I was but I forget to log in. I've mainly been using the Ben Marsh tracker, which is how I got my athletics tickets.

Just been another ticket drop! Got myself a Velodrome ticket, also an athletics one for my bro!.

Bollocks, I missed out

and do you know why? Because I've spent the afternoon going through all my recorded stuff from the Olympics getting rid of it or trimming a programme down, to make space for Paralympics. First day I've not been watching Twitter

I want to see this fella beat the world record.

I've seen him throw and its amazing. Derek Derenalagi - a BEAST of a man!

Today I learnt that the music in the TV trailer is Public Enemy. And there was some great stuff on Sunday Brunch with explanation of some of the equipment and how it needs to be tailor made to each individual.
