With this possibly the last time Gareth Southgate's last game who do you think the next manager will be

Graham Potter could do well with this side. Chelsea were an absolute mess from top to bottom, so I don't think that's representative of who is is or how good he is as a manager.

There's not massive amounts to do with the personnel, just a tweak to how they press. A bit more front foot, win the ball 10-15 yards higher up the pitch and have the attacking midfield in closer contact with the front man. That's quite a lot like his Brighton team who hugely over-performed.

Potter did well with a young and cheap team. England need someone who can get some of the best players in the world to play together. Klopp basically, but I do think that the England manager should be English like the players are.

Bielsa would be fun. Haven't the foggiest about who is realistic though. There's Tuchel or Klopp not in work.

Potter did well at a club that is very well run from top to bottom. I think he'd do alright with England, he'd have enough time to put his stuff in place, but lots of managers have done well at Brighton.

Dyche is a good manager, but not for England. There'd be a riot.

Gerrard and Lampard. Hahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahhaha.

Breathe.

Hahahhahahahhahahhahajhahajjajahha. Get fucking Rooney in.

Who's the ex England footballer who's recently shown up commentating on BBC? Not Gazza the other one I can't think of the name of, he looks like he's after work.

As in Wazzaplayer? I can't remember - it might even be Gazza I can't quite place him :(
Wazza is Rooney.

Gazza won't be commentating on or managing anything unfortunately.

There are a load of ex-England players doing commentary on the BBC- Rio, Shearer, Lineker, Richards, Keown, Dixon (I might be getting my BBC and ITV mixed up). Any of them?

Probably Sven would have at the time. Don't expect any of them though. Rooney might be in the frame more realistically. That's all acdemic for now though if Southgate is staying on after all the media frenzy.

Almost immediately available: prior 'leadership' experience; questionable tactician; unlikely to be labelled "The Wally With A Brolly.

Why the fuck wouldn't you put Palmer on ahead of Kane? Kane didn't press, didn't win any flick ons or knock downs that Pickford kept launching. Saka was the one outlet who would recieve the ball look thretaning then recyle it back into midfield. Bellingham wasn't really involved.

Mind you it's what you expect.

Because Kane and Palmer play different positions?

England manager Gareth Southgate has resigned after a second consecutive European Championship final defeat.

The Three Lions lost 2-1 to Spain in Berlin on Sunday, having been beaten on penalties by Italy at Wembley three years ago.

The 53-year-old managed his country for 102 games in eight years in charge. His contract was set to expire later this year.

"As a proud Englishman, it has been the honour of my life to play for England and to manage England," said Southgate.

"It has meant everything to me, and I have given it my all.

"But it’s time for change, and for a new chapter."
