The big sausage event of 2018 - UK Sausage Week will take place from Monday 29th October and conclude on Sunday 4th November. The week will celebrate sausages of all shapes and sizes across the UK.

Bit early to start the thread but it is good to stockpile get organised for the celebration

Anyone got any sausage recommendations? It seems ages since I had a truly decent one. All of Sainsbury's and Tesco's offerings are either too dry or under seasoned and since the demise of Biggles my sausage purchases have been a bit hit and miss. This trend for putting 100% meat in with no filler could be the problem. Bangers need some filler to hold in the moisture and give some texture.

I love browsing posh butcher's websites. These guys do Basque beef which is Spanish meat from ex-dairy animals that are put to pasture for a year after they've stopped being good for milk. The meat is seriously tasty and tender. Get some.

The butcher's almost opposite the Tudor Close pub, where we had lunch with sealion, does his own, best I've had around here.

Of course, it's a fucking long way for you to go for a pound of sausages.

I went to a wedding in Scotland last year and some of the Scots there reminded me that square sausages exist. Apparently still very popular up there....I've not seen/heard of them for years.

I think square sausages make the most sense. We should eat more of them. I'm going to try to.

I like a square sausage on occasion. Generally prefer the standard format.

Did get some Heck square sausages reduced a while back. Made my own McMuffins with them and it was pleased with the results don't see them about often.

There should be a register of members interests on this site. It's clear that Badgers works for the Sausage Marketing Board, along with several other food-based Boards.

I get commission from the Chopped Tomatoes Marketing Board every time I post about eating tomato-based concoctions, but that's nowt compared to how much Badgers must be raking in.
