News Corp management has decided to sacrifice a workforce of 200 to protect a) Rebekah Brooks and b) more importantly their BSkyB purchase. And, tbh, I don't believe for a second the majority of the NOTW staff will be actually out of work once the Sun on Sunday gets started. Don't twist the facts. If you listened to their statement earlier, in fact they are going to have a "three month consultation" with their staff, and no redundancies have been announced yet.
