The fire is now out. It is not in a part of the camp it would be easy or obvious for an attack from an outsider. There are fires in the camp sometimes because of the circumstances. It is most likely an accidental fire and the timing is coincidental.

It has not been confirmed so the BBC won't confirm it. From what I gather on twitter it is most likely a camp fire out of control. No expert but it looks like rubbish on fire in the photos and videos I have seen, there are lots of people calmly standing around. Good editorial choice not to whip up panic (what the terrorists want) unnecessarily without direct confirmation in my opinion.

They then categorically stated it was fake. At the point I was on the phone to someone discussing whether my other half could drive a van down tomorrow to help arrange shelter.

People on Twitter were posting a mixture of old and new images. The BBC- who are not present on the ground, at all- must have date checked it and then felt all proud of themselves for discovering a hoax.

This is what happens when they have no fucking actual journalists in a news organisation. Just managers and committees.

The people who join jihadi orgs in the west are often the ones with the least experience of state racism etc (eg aqsa mahmood who went to a private school, the well educated saudi highjackers etc)
