Many dead in coordinated Paris shootings and explosions

Charlie Hebdo ended up as quite low on register of what violence a few individuals can do. They just seemed to give up after the first attack.
The Hebdo attack was more targeted than the ones tonight (and with fewer perpetrators), at least going on the details so far. If there had been hundreds of people working at CH that day the death toll would have been higher.

This reporter seems to be in Calais and has reasserted that the fire images are from tonight

"(Translated from Polish by Bing)

I repeat the honor camp in Calais is burning now, I'm on the spot. This is my photos before half an hour"

It is a tactic, but that doesn't mean intolerance and religiously inspired prejudices don't come into it. There's no reason to think the bloke who was done for planning to blow up the Ministry of Sound and kill 'those slags dancing around' didn't mean what he was taped saying.
You're right. No reason to think that. But also, there was a suicide attack at a football match - not so decadent, presumably. Seems more likely to me that this is to be understood as attacks on people going about doing their normal things. Football, gigs, restaurants... you're not safe at any of these things.

shit, it's times like this that it's best to switch off the internet and check back in the morning when everyone has calmed down.
I have to get up at five to go to a meeting in london. I'll expect security up there will be tightened. Mayors whatever ? going on. Nite

journal.ie - Citing emergency services sources, Le Parisien is now saying that as well as the 100 killed in the Bataclan theatre siege, at least 44 people are confirmed dead, at six different points of attack throughout Paris:

  • Bataclan theatre, Boulevard Voltaire: At least 100 dead, seven seriously injured, four wounded
  • Stade de France, Saint-Denis: Four dead, 11 seriously injured, 39 wounded
  • Rue Bichat: 14 dead, 10 seriously injured, 10 wounded
  • Avenue de la Republique: Four dead, 11 seriously injured, 10 wounded
  • Charonne: 19 dead, 13 seriously injured, 10 wounded
  • Beaumarchais: Three seriously injured, four wounded.

Of course, and the same goes for attacks on public transport. I wasn't trying to suggest that disgust at 'western decadence' was all there is to it; just that at times it is a factor. Perhaps not one for this thread, though.

Do we know thats defininitely a revenge thing? There are christians, shias there in calais and others IS hate .

Its likely to be far right but has that been confirmed?

Our ruling class have pissed someone off? Its not going to go away.

Unless you accept the risk of living in Paris, New York, Madrid or London.

I guess treating people as second class and less important does have consequences.
