Manchester United 19/20: You can't win anything with kids (revisited)

Ighalo signed. dont have a problem with this signing. its january so you gotta make do with what is available. and who knows, this is a once in a life time opportunity for Ighalo. He might (however unlikely) make an impact.

Sounded like an insipid first half of football. Might watch a bit of the second half to see how the 68th minute walk out goes.

Fernandes stats pretty decent. Just need another ten players to play with him.

Well thought it was a bold move to pair Fernandes with Mata and Utd looked better for it to be honest . Tough opponents in Wolves who played well away from home. A draw was a fair result imo . But a point shared doesn’t move either to the top four .

still think this clueless Norwegian needs to be kicked out the door. Fernandes should have been playing far more forward. what was luke shaw doing on the field? williams should have been on.

fernandes played too deep for me.
Yes especially for a number 10. Logic may have been he can pass long shoot long but he was hampered by a lack of movement of other players and them wanting ball to feet. He wont be the messiah but he'll be an important player once he settles in.

He is saying all the right things. I really hope it works out for him and us. It would be great story if he gets the goals we badly need.

"I told my agent 'this is what I want. I want to come here'," added Ighalo.

"He said: 'You're going to get a pay cut to go to United.'

"I said: 'I don't care. Make this deal happen. I want to go to United. I don't care how much is the pay cut, I know that, make it happen.'"

Despite my dislike of Man Utd I do like stories like this. Hope it goes well for him.

A cynic might suggest there is a pang of desperation in this signing :hmm:

Manchester United are reportedly one of five clubs interested in signing Lionel Messi in the summer.
Sounds reasonable. Messi, Pogba and Fernandes would be a good combination.

There’s no way they’d drop Fred
Plus Lingard is an excellent young prospect :D

I can't see Messi leaving Barca. Even on a free transfer for an 'older' player his wage bill and ego would be a millstone for any club.

Probably the best to have played the game but to become a team player at Utd/City/West Ham? While he is still performing he will want a team built around him and have influence on a club.

As loads of people have pointed out on redcafe (and elsewhere) tonight, United only hired the Chief Football Correspondent of the rag to run their PR last month.

At very least I hope Old Trafford ban the rag from the ground.
I’m always heartened at Manchester airport that there are shelves upon shelves of free copies of the Sun untouched. I know lots of good Man Utd supporters who are sound politically but there’s many more who don’t remember the politics that a lot of united supporters had 20 years ago and have no affiliation with them .

Be good if it galvanised at best a mainly apolitical fan base but at worst one that has had its fair share of Tories and TR supporters .
I‘d imagine the large number who gleefully sing ‘the Sun was right, you killed your own fans’ every time they play Liverpool will just double down given their dislike of Woodward.

There’s a tribalism amongst some fans, not just at United but other clubs, which is inexcusable . Wouldn’t just single out Man Utd fans I’ve just seen a video of Leeds at a youth game singing ‘whose that lying on the runway’ .

Sky did an interview with a financial football expert who said the likes of citeh and Utd can easily recoup the expenditure on him through sponsors etc.

Excellent win tonight. Old school backs to the wall Fergie type victory with just enough class when it mattered to grab the points. Maguire superb. Fernandes too showed the quick silver flashes plus dead-ball delivery that has been missing for a long long time. (When was the last time Utd scored from a corner?) First time in over twenty years Utd have beaten Chelsea at home twice in a season. Add in the victories over other CL contenders (will have to discount Citeh now of course :)) and it is easy to see that even without the serious handicap of the missing Rashford/McTominay Utd are on the right track. I deliberately left Pogba out of the reckoning as I now longer consider him a Utd player. Neither of course does he. Anything near £120 mill in the kicker and don't let the door hit you on the way out would be welcome at this stage. Finally, if nothing else, the win will for a time force the treasonous 'Ole Out!' brigade to shut the fuck up!

Fuck off cunt (yes you). Now consider him no longer a United player? Conveniently overlooking how you've been massaging his nut sack throughout this thread.

I merely pointed out dullard that he was still the most creative player on Utd's books. Not that i wanted him as captain. For the record I lost faith in him a long time before the most recent downing of tools.
