What is ignored is that the ball didn't simply strike his arm. It diverted in a dramatic fashion away from Maguire (who was trodden on incidentally aka fouled) and in the direction of the only other Wolves player in the box. Thus the goal was 'scored' directly from the infringement. It can hardly be regarded as incidental then can it? Indeed this is the kind of incident where the attacker benefits from a straight hand-ball that the law was introduced to prevent.

Any news regards Bruno Fernandes? I read he has been included in Sporting's squad to face Benfica tonight.
 
Browsing the footy news today. Usual conflicting reports about BF with some sources saying Utd will meet the higher SL price due to other clubs interest. Others suggesting Utd will wait till the summer and pay around 100m euros :rolleyes: Some fans talking up signing Grealish as he is a better player instead.

Portuguese press are saying 60m euro plus 10 add ons or no deal with Man City now interested . Hard to say what’s true tbh but if Freds worth £50m ......

According to Sky the hold up is because Sporting want United to pay agent fee to Mendes who isn't BF agent, but has an arrangement with SL about getting a fee for future transfers at the club involving some players. United dont want to pay him as its a case of you have this arrangement with him so you pay him why should we as he is not part of the transfer or BF agent.
 
Bruno Fernandes could join someone other than Man Utd in the summer. That's what his agent Jorge mendes has warned as the two clubs struggle to agree a fee.
 
Burnley hadn't won at old trafford since september 1962 until tonight. Ole was not even born then.
