Living off the land 100%

You fuck with me, or anyone else, I will grind you down to dust. Dead dust. I have had enough of you.

Poached mackerel on a bed of potato and speckled bean (dunno) herby salad with a tomato, chili salsa. Not a single thing bought :) Very delicious.

Mackerel was wrapped tightly in foil with a coriander stuffing. Plunged into boiling water for 10 minutes. Works very well.
Sounds good to me, the beans are just climbing beans they are lush.

If it really is water of a duck's back, iwhy do you then go on to issue your blood-curdling albeit rather unspecific threat?

I'd quite like to know what powers you think you have, and how you are going to use them to grind Pickman or anyone else here into dust - dead dust.

I assume it's not a literal death threat, but if you are going to prove that the pen or indeed the paintbrush is mightier than the sword, you are going to have to raise your game as I've seen little evidence of you being a latter day Emily Zola let alone an Emile Zola

Do you mean to suggest that a female version on Zola would be lower quality? Because that is exactly what your analogy says...

For all the bullshit and bollocks in this thread, something is worth it (whatever it is).

Of all the people I have met in Portugal. All the people who connected, which was pretty much all of them, taught me something which is pretty much wasted here.

Every safe bed. Every sketch bought. Every meal. All of the good company has been so incredibly valuable. I have received emails from people asking where, and how I am. They are genuinely appreciated.

And, despite the crap here (how the fuck did this thread turn into such an abomination of human ugliness?) the people I meet Love what I am doing. I tell them about my hiking and foraging, and they just laugh, tell me they do the same, ask me what I am cooking.

It isn't just the Portuguese. Everyone here seems to be on such a gentle vibe always. I have not seen a single example of aggression - nothing!

I think my foot is good enough for a Two day hike to Tavira. Then, it is going to need rest for 10 weeks minimum. Painful as fuck, but still just about working.

I need a joint, but can't afford it. It may come my way.

Emails of support? :D

I think the thread has gone the way it has because of the outrageous lies implausible tales you've been telling.
Your foot is "just about working" and you're in agony but you're managing to walk 50 clicks a day with a 25kg backpack? If that is true, then you should get in touch with a television company, because you make Bear Grylls seem like a rank amateur.

I don't understand why you can't just post the truth. I'm sure you have an interesting enough life that people will still read your blog, but you're starting to sound like Jay Cartwright from The Inbetweeners.

Thing is....Stanley...there are times when your posts are interesting and then all of a sudden you just go off on people. I doubt you did that to the folk you met briefly on your travels.

Your tales are certainly entertaining at times ...whether true or not.
Personally, I don't really know what your truth is.....I suspect it is difficult, at times harsh and uncomfortable and short of It's portrayal. I think you are someone who is attempting to make the best of your situation and there is nothing wrong with that. After all, who of us might want the cold light of day over the flights of imagination...especially when we have experienced the harsh side of life.

Your writing reminds me of the Mark Twain quote ....."truth is not hard to kill, and that a lie well told is immortal."..only your truth keeps on appearing and the lie is not told well enough for it to be a better story.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed most of the thread and your "adventures". I would imagine that the people you meet briefly along your journey get to see the cheery Stanley who entertains them and regales them with happy stories of his travels...and why not? There's enough reality and misery in many lives and who wants to hear about that? But....We have been along with you from day 1 so it's not as simple as telling us stuff and expecting us to not see through some of the fabrication. Remember.... not everyone appreciates or wants that.

Can you understand that many here see your blog as rather surreal? In fact your drawings are the complete antithesis of the blog. They are extremely accurate and not a line is out of place....and except for the absence of life in any form, they probablyl represent what your journey has been in a "truer" way than your blog.

I suspect that you wrote the blog to entertain....and the absolute truth was very far from your thoughts because your imagination takes over. You may have subconsciously sought to try to make it all sound happy and entertaining...after all, again I'll ask...who wants reality?

I do hope that your foot doesn't get more painful.....and that you make enough money to see a doctor and get it sorted.
If your journeys are truly as real as you believe, and who am I to judge your perception despite some inconsistencies, then you've had a good summer...
Don't be too upset that people here don't appreciate the surreal. But at some stage, do accept that we see you...for real...and may well be the only ones who do see you.

Good luck to you; Stanley. You're an entertaining and at times surreal artist.
Might I suggest a name change for the thread? Something along the lines of "Reality is over-rated ..... long live the surreal."

Many of us have repeatedly suggested you go & get your foot looked at, yet you don't, and your posts imply it is getting worst, the whole situation is beyond ridiculous.

You say you are averaging €80 income a day, so FFS go and get it checked out.

Why does it matter to so many people what Stanley does? I find the Stanley bashing obsession that certain folk have (it's usually the same people) quite strange. I had him on intermittent ignore for ages after his supposed assault on the Downs girl. I took him off a couple of weeks ago, then ignored this thread for ages because of the way people react to him.

We all have rows on here, and particular posters that we don't get on with, but the weight of invective that's aimed at SE is on a completely different level to anything else I've ever seen on these boards. I agree with Wookey . Once the pack gets to work on Stan I find it quite uncomfortable.

Prob best keep it on ignore then

I think you missed my post quoting one of your posts from this thread where you called someone a 'dumb fuck' for pretty much no reason. Never mind all the posts on this thread where you've called us ' sad fuck losers'.

No. I called Kabbes a dumb fuck, because he was being a dumb fuck with his snide comment. You're actually quite stupid aren't you? Sorry - it is not your fault.

Re; sad fuck losers - read my earlier post. My references to 'fuckers', 'losers', etc, is only to those who have been arseholes to me. You for one.

I went to see a pediatrician weeks ago.
