It was in connection with footballers taking the knee before kickoff. ‘Lozza’ was suggesting this made them appear weak in front of their opponents, and contrasted it with the haka, intended to intimidate opponents. He then gave a haka demonstration.

Quite what this had to do with the allegations of persons being paedophiles or a racist is unclear to me.

Initially I was disappointed to learn that the Flouncing Fox is being bankrolled by this millionaire Jeremy Hosking character, as I was rather looking forward to the prospect of him having to perform the haka in drag for pennies, alongside other Covent Garden street performers, like silver robot man, and the feller in a sealion costume juggling haddock.

But, this way we can look forward to the absurd toff ‘Lozza’ making a tit of himself in further court appearances.

Was talking the other day with a veteran socialist / union activist of several decades, who suggested that increased rates of male suicide in the UK are due in part to young men being unable to find a job, and rather than blame Thatcherite and post-Thatcherite policies of an 'acceptable level' of unemployment (to keep wages down, discourage industrial action and weaken union membership), or see 'austerity' and the 2008 crash as the cause, they think it must all be their fault - 'I'm a failure as a man cos I can't find work'.

Another suggestion I've read is that the greatly increased availability of porn online has led to an increase in erectile dysfunction among young blokes. Apparently Viagra consumption among 20-to-30-year-old-men is not uncommon

I think the theory was that these guys' fantasy ideas of sex with artificial-looking, cosmetically-enhanced, photoshopped and submissive porn actresses as seen on porn sites didn't match up to the reality of sex with a real person, so when they copped off with a perfectly attractive and desirable woman, were unable to get it up. Whether this phenomenon has also been observed among gay men of similar ages, this article didn't say.
