It's a different Fox. Orang is thinking of the daughter of Richard Fox, who like her dad is/was an anthropologist. I've not read her book, but none of the reviews inspired confidence. At least Nancy Scheper-Hughes is hated like poison by the people of the Irish village whose funny ways formed the basis of her Saints, Scholars and Schizophrenics. Fox seems to have been born under the sign of "meh".

The Fox I was thinking of when you posted the above, was Celina Fox of long-ago 'Londoners' fame ....... it's a great book
