Keir Starmer's time is up

Judging by his age and that this is a lower 6th form report which I reckon dates it to around 1977/8 I reckon he was advocating for a second referendum even then

Good to know he loves the football though. What a regular down to earth in touch bloke he is.

Yep this shirt kerfuffel once again shows Starmer is getting the big calls right

Speaking to the Scum again too.

Always On The Ball - Sir Keir Starmer KCB KC MP, Man Of The Some People

Has there ever been a politician who has said "nah not really into football, not much of a one for sports generally to be honest". If they're looking to be "relatable" that sounds like it would work better than "I am clearly making this up".

Margaret Thatcher pretty openly hated football and football fans. I don't think John Major particularly pretended to be interested in football either. Maybe it's more of a requirement these days but even now I don't think Theresa May bothered. David Cameron did and forgot who he supposedly supported. Not sure about Johnson?

Taking out that kid did his career no harm at all.

Johnson is a huge football fan. Supports All the London teams.

Does tend to get it confused with rugby, though, rules-wise.

It's like the holding a pint in the pub photo op thing where they look they've never even heard of beer before, never mind actually drinking the bloody stuff.

May also professed to care about football. Major too, but probably genuine. Blair really cared about showing his heading abilities.

Got to go back to thatcher to find a PM who didn't pretend to love the beautiful game.

ETA: not sure about Truss... who is? Did she actually happen?

They take one tiny tiny tiny sip.

Except for man of the people, Billy 'ten pints' Hague, of course.
