Keir Starmer's time is up

Barney Crockett, former Aberdeen Council Leader and senior Scottish Labour figure quits over Starmer's oil and gas plans saying he is worse than Thatcher.

I'm with Starmer on almost nothing, except stopping oil and gas exploration.

Which he doubtless won't follow though on anyway. But fuck being pro-fossil fuels and pretending to be a socialist. You're socialising untold death and destruction to prop up private industry.

Meeting Ken Loach to talk about cinema is enough for deselection. But staying in the home of a convicted child rapist and sex trafficker is apparently totally fine.

Cringingly awful attempt to humanise this twat.
As an anarchist history nerd, I do have to point out that this does mean we can now have a quiz question of "what do Emma Goldman, Errico Malatesta, and Keir Starmer all have in common?" Although I've never seen any suggestion that Emma or Errico ever came to the attention of the law for their icecream-selling activities, so Starmer arguably the most daring and lawless of the three there.

It will get slightly better, I expect, than it is. But that's where we are, where Labour is. Slightly better, for some of you. But we can't afford more than that, sorry not sorry. This is 'opposition', this is the only alternative. I've been saying it for years but something must give, shit must burn. Heads must roll, surely?

Slightly better, for some of you. Anything more is simply irresponsible. ffswtf? Anyway sorry for such negativity, it used to be anger but I'm so fucking tired of being angry

While in any sane world shammer should comfortably trounce the tories in the election I think it'll be rather closer than anticipated and would not be surprised by another tory win. Sunak is a shit but he doesn't have the record shammer has of abandoning every pledge he's made. Shammer's position seems to be simply the pursuit of power for its own sake, he has no programme for change as every single position he has declared immutable has altered.

I'm not so sure about that.

Fair point

So the last time we were in this position (pre-97 election), Labour at least appeared to have some newish ideas and enthusiasm and energy.

This lot really, really don't -- it's just so clearly about not scaring the horses and there are just no ideas at all apart from...dont scare the horses. Which isn't even an idea.
