Keir Starmer's time is up

Keith lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles cry
On a mountain high
Keith lift us up where we belong
Far from the world below
Up where the clear winds blow

Ha, ha, I had him in mind when I posted. Just thought not even kieth could come up with a welcome line for bringing Oz back into the fold.

It really seems like he is willing to lose to the tories again...
'Milord kieth, we would advise you that now might be just the moment to set out a bit of mild social democracy? Perhaps people might be quite keen on the idea of public ownership in, oh, let's say gas and electricity. Railways too. You could wrap it all up some sort of hard choices blather but, erm, give people a bit of hope? Maybe there's a bit of social solidarity in the air'

- No, no, I've got an even better strategy!

'Oh my, oh dear... could I ask what that is Milord?'

- Mike Gapes!

:(

This man would support a nuclear strike on Battersea Dogs Home if the number wonks said it had enough backing from the right voters

Funny he hasn't got a single wonk who will tell him that the it's the votes of the non-gammon working class, the biggest demographic in the country, that will actually matter.

God he's fucking useless, beiger than a landlord special. It's not "caving in" if the senior management team's comprised of Tory activists, it's collusion and a political scandal. Even Ed Davey spotted that one ffs ...

If you thought you were going to win the next election, and wanted to make sure the government maintained control over the BBC, you'd not want to say anything to suggest that the basic system of political appointees there is fucked.

In the interests of the truth, from what I see out there in the real world, the vast majority of the working class ARE gammons. I have to work with them. And those that say they arent a gammon, they very often are, as you find out along the line. We cannot disregard this fact because we dont like it. So, like it or not, Labour, seemingly is doomed. Dont shoot the messenger.

no indeed, the messenger should do the job for us given that you're reporting on what YOU see in the real world, which is only a tiny fragment of the whole. we cannot disregard this fact and i'm certainly happy to pass you a pistol with one bullet

It cannot be verified if its a fact, but Id say its certainly true.

all facts are by definition true. your claim is not a fact. anyway everyone knows labour, the tories and the lib dems - and even the greens - are doomed as sooner or later they will go the way of the russian constitutional democrats or the national socialist german workers party, or the whites and the reds of the hippodromes.

What work do you do with them?
Anyone who doesnt agree that most of the working class are gammons is fine with me. I know what I think. It isnt something I like, but it is something I have seen throughout my life. There are also a lot of gammons who pretend they arent gammons, but you see what they are eventually. Why do you think Corbyn wasnt popular with the majority of potential Labour voters? The point I am putting across is that if Starmer doesnt go more to the right then Labour aint getting in. Again I am not saying that I think he should do that, I am saying that, to me, Labour is doomed.

I, on the other hand, am continually nicely surprised by just how much common sense, solidarity, charity and generally anti establishment feeling is expressed by my fellow gammons. Not always on the surface, especially if you start talking party politics, but just underneath. When you get past the slogans. I remember watching a program years ago by some M.P. whose name I forget, entitled something like "The Secret Socialists of Guildford ". People in a shopping centre were asked a variety of questions, about environmental concerns, nationalisation of public utilities etc. The vast majority gave left wing or ecological answers, only to express consternation when told that they were supporting Labour policies. When people really tell you what they think, actually think, they are normally far more left wing than they themselves realise.

Those are interesting thoughts. I am not knowledgable in political systems to that degree, so I cannot possibly form an opinion on that. But it is an interesting concept.
all adults over 18 are potential labour voters. even if many of them vote for other parties or don't vote at all.
What I see out there in the world is a mass of working class gammons. Of the working class people I have met, few are not.
