July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

BBC, AQ 'have gone for effect rather than mass casualty'. True, actually. This could actually have been far FAR worse. Not to detract from what's happened, but....

He gave the best statement he could at the time, from what I can see.

The best statement he could've given would've been some sort of acceptance that he has partly brought this down on the heads of the UK by his US' lap-poodle taking us into the war in Iraq.

I know who I blame.

Old St. as well apparently.

Woah, I was there 10 minutes before it all kicked off. I got out, waited 10 minutes for a bus to take me to work, thought "sod this" and got back on the tube... was evacuated at Bank.

I'm 2 mins from Old St tube!

It's very quiet round here - the BBC news doesn't mention an Old St explosion though - where did you hear this?

People still trapped in King's X... :(

This isn't really the time.

I'm in canary wharf. There's a story that they've closed all roads leading in and shot dead a suicide bomber. any one else here that can confirm this?

I heard this at work about 20 minutes ago, but have been waiting for confirmation somewhere else.

What do you mean?
I mean that the 'security services' have temporarily taken over all vodafone's offices and operations, due to the inherent security risk posed by large and sophisticated cellular networks (inside news, as it were)

IntoStella, I live in Hammersmith ..... if you or anyone around here can't get home - PM me, we have plenty of room if you can't get home tonight, or if you want a drink or something while waiting for the tubes to come back up.
