Jeremy Corbyn's time is up

so all he did in the 20 years between 1990 and 2010 was go to a protest against the Iraq war...even I did that...
In fairness there is a limit to what you you cram into a small leaflet. These are career highlights in the constituency (none of which include anything he did as party leader). But whatever your opinion of Corbyn as a party leader, there's no disputing he is one of the very best constituency MPs out there.

this is the comment i saw on twitter - and its a fair one if you know the consituency

did you know there was a 2021 census and they've even managed to release the findings? Islington North (E14000763) - ONS

You call that a change? This is a change:

I agree with this but thinking about where the stupidity comes from... When Corbyn was leader the right had no concept at all of where his support came from, they instinctively believe social democracy is dead as a project and only has fringe support from the usual fringe lefty suspects.

I've noticed there's a certain kind of person I've met a few times in my life, who considers themselves to be left wing but is also firmly ensconced in a upper middle class bubble, generally in London and the South East, and who are seemingly pathologically determined to believe that everyone outside of that bubble is some kind of archetype of a bigoted right wing headbanger no matter what evidence is presented to the contrary.

They genuinely don't get that soft socialist / social-democratic views remain a kind of political common sense in the old Labour heartlands, so you get the projection that support for Corbyn was coming exclusively from the sort of upper middle class leftie who they are more familiar with. I also suspect that they like to believe that they are more enlightened than the unwashed bigoted masses and so are always on the look out for confirmation of this. When presented with the fact that Corbyn increased Labour's vote share in places like Gateshead they react by seemingly disavowing the information as they can't deal with the cognitive dissonance. They are thick racist northerners not blue haired university educated LGBT activists so how can they possibly vote Corbyn?

This kind of person is massively over represented in "left of centre" political and media circles IMO.
