Italy v Uruguay (Group D) Tuesday 24th June 2014

If Rooney had been banned for for 23 games for biting two different people, years apart, and you read multiple comments on Urban about a bite they'd all seen, would you say, "I have to see the reply to be sure"?

I follow Middlesbrough.

Well done you. You did not point out which Liverpool (redshites to you) were defending him btw?

I think he should be banned from the remainder of the tournament, fined very heavily and be ordered to take further treatment.

As a Liverpool fan a ban is indifferent to me really. He will go overseas or not and Liverpool will be fine.

Well, I think where I need to catch up is on this idea of a sale and ban. It's not that I disagree with you all, it's just I have a different sense of the mood. Do you not think that FIFA will do some kind of appeasement move? Just enough of a punishment without anything radical? Remember the fact he bites is a big deal in Britain, but in most countries they won't care because they haven't lived through his various scandals day-to-day the way you have.

I'm not even sure he'll get chucked out of the World Cup.

I'm not, repeat not, saying he shouldn't be.

I appreciate that I'm in a minority of one here, so I'm either totally out of touch or really rather prescient.

I think a sensible answer is no one expects FIFA to act with any kind of honesty, decency, transparency or anything close to what we'd all see as a good thing....

If it was the original video-clip I'd seen then definitely. The replay I saw first time round was just the back of Suárez's head at the moment of the bite. I didn't see the Italian defender strike out with his arm either. I didn't seee any of the key movements.

I saw an Italian player fall to the ground grabbing his face, and then I saw Suárez grabbing his face in response and throwing himself to the ground. The camera panned round at this point so I could see that side on. Later I saw the Italian player pulling his shirt and I thought he was saying Suárez had torn it and I didn't understand that either.

Everyone can dress this up anyway they like but I've been entirely rational.

He should never be seen in any team's shirt again. He should be in an institution for those how have mental health issues.

No, I am on them already, there's a thing called a timeline..... It's right in front of me....

It sounds like you spend a lot of time following the supporters of a team that you don't support.

And what some idiots are saying elsewhere doesn't have much to do with the claim that Liverpool supporters on this thread have been acting ludicrously regarding Suarez.

Liverpool fans have been the most reasonable on the thread.
Oh I don't know. I think the suggestions about allowing 11 other men to stand in a circle and to kick the shit out of him have been the most reasonable of suggestions so far? Once we join in the debate at that level people will stop calling us cunts:oops:

I'm talking about if you hadn't even seen the video. You wouldn't need to have. You'd condemn him instantly.

So now I have to imagine I'm in a thread about another game, where another player commits the same foul, but this time I haven't seen the video. Then I have to decide what I'd post on here. You know what? You've got me. I don't know what I'd do.

What about about if I was wearing high heels while I was watching it all? Would the irritation of them making my feet sore make my posts different? We can add as many parameters as you like to this.

No, you are all called cunts because you are all cunts. :D

I grew up with a lot of Liverpool fans, I still talk to them on social media. Is that something you think worthy of criticism? Or an example of spending time following supporters of a team I don't support?

I follow a rather a well written Leftist LFC fan on twitter who was re-tweeting a lot of the comments aimed at him. Does that mean I follow them?

When you actually look at it then you might not making such silly remarks....

Why do you talk to them and follow them if they're all cunts who are incapable of being even slightly rational about a game?

Did you read this? "I grew up with a lot of Liverpool fans, I still talk to them on social media."

Or this?

I follow a rather a well written Leftist LFC fan on twitter who was re-tweeting a lot of the comments aimed at him. Does that mean I follow them?

ie, I don't follow 'them' the fella on Twitter was retweeting comments aimed at him by Liverpool fans. And I have mates who are as equally partisan in their support of 'all things Liverpool' I have known since I was a child.

And you also said they're all cunts. And you said that lots of them were defending Gerrard. If you choose to hang around with people like that, that's your problem.

Sometimes they are, like saying someone who's bitten a player should be banned. Which is what everyone here's been saying.

Not everybody. Some people have been saying that it's not that bad, that nothing will probably happen, that it won't affect his future at all.
