If you don't mind listening instead of reading, the 5-part miniseries on The Dig podcast is pretty good. Can anyone point me to some good reading material about the Shah and pre-revolution Iran in the 20th Century?
I have a Persian friend who is totally anti-regime but to the point where she basically glorifies everything about the Shah which IMO is a bit OTT, and every other post on social media is some sort of hero worship of him and his family. Obvs I'm sympathetic for the nostalgia in the current climate but feel a bit of perspective is required.
