independence for Greenland?

Some of the comments above are an example of how it is not uncommon for people to look at the world today and believe that the current dispensation has always been the way things are.

I maintain the Cod Wars were the result of a bigger nation attempting to take advantage of a smaller, weaker nation.

No one was given a vote in Iceland whether they wanted the British to steal their fish.

After a bloody, expensive hot war, Iceland was "awarded" some basic prizes of sovereignity. Not a victory in my mind. UK could've invaded and Iceland couldn't've stopped them.
Greenland, were they to amalgamate, by choice, with the US, would never have to fear anything like this again..

We have also seen an example in a couple of posts above of something that I saw in a Youtube video recently. Apparentyly,
many people in the USA believe that people in Britain are very interested in the American War of Independance, and know much about it. I am not sure if I know who Cornwallis was, but from the context I assume that he was a British general.

Cornwall is the most southwestern British county

If you're going to continue this bizarre line of argument, maybe go back and read the whole of that wiki page you linked to, then you might have some idea what you're talking about.

At the moment, you clearly don't have a clue.

We would all writing Icelandic. Cod would be on the menu every day in canteens in schools, hospitals, and the armed forces. There would be no televison on a Thursday.
Didn't they ban beer until about 20 years ago? That might be a false memory.

I hope we have a Greenlander lurker here who reads my post and takes note of what a serious threat a bullying nation poses to a small, unprotected nation that has vast wealth

They are always putting out false reports, in order to confuse us, and thereby weaken us. They have the most successful spy agency in the world - they never get caught. When was the last time you heard of an Icelandic spy being arrested anywhere?
