In what order do you put stuff on your burger?

Most of these recipes are impractical. Nobody makes a sandwich by starting with the top slice of bread then putting stuff under it.

The top down format is better for trying to visualise the final result though, no?

Starting with the bottom is how you assemble it, but it's upside down here.

Toasting the bun sounds like a good idea, for logically sound reasons. That's where I first went wrong, clearly.

Ketchup

Gherkin
Burger
Mayo and/ or ketchup spread on bottom bun
Burger bun toasted


If you have pineapple then replace it with a big slice of tomato

I very rarely eat burgers, but if I did I'd do it correctly. The same as I only do baked potatoes the correct way, on the few occasions I do them.

Had some wonderful chilli burgers from Aldi last night. Mrs SI made them like so:

Bun base
Burger
Cheese slice
Mayonnaise
Lettuce
Bun lid

And they were gawj.
