Think I've had it three times, but the first time (if that's what it was) was very early on, weeks before the first 2020 lockdown, when testing wasn't available. So, my vote is for twice, as I have tested positive twice.

There was also another time when I might have had it, and people I'd been in close contact with did test positive, but I tested negative throughout being (a bit) ill, so my vote is still for twice.

You?

And have you noticed any cumulative effects?

(Don't think we've had this thread...)

i beleive i've had it 3x, but only tested positive once.
but if the other two bouts weren't coronavirus, i have no idea what they were.

never tasted positive but about this time last year had a virus
that sent me to my sick bed for 3 days most of which was spent lying down as i thought my head was going to fall off

took that as Covid :hmm:

Like you, my first bout was before testing was available for anyone but footballers and politicians. That was a bad bout.

Subsequently I had three separate bouts, verified by testing.

I haven’t returned to normal health.

Difficult to choose an option.
I’ve had 2 actual positive COVID tests but I reckon I’ve had it at least twice again since all the lockdowns and I can’t be arsed actually testing any more.

Feb '21 and Sept '23 had it and tested positive. Feb '24 exact same feeling - very bad cold and cough with added weakness in legs - but tested negative so went for a job interview while ill.
And all of that is despite being pretty careful.

My brother and I had some respiratory problems at the start before testing - my Dad suddenly died during that time as well.

My respiratory problems carried on until I was able to have the first COVID jab available then they went away. My asthma nurse said that many of her asthma patients reported similar.

Since that first COVID jab I caught COVID (and tested positive) in April 2023 then June this year.

Without going to look it up we think we've had the initial vaccine and four boosters.

That "non COVID" virus this summer was fucking horrible and I had that twice this summer in addition to actual COVID.

Poll fail - should be an option for never having covid thus never needing to test.
Sounds like your poll option is the one for never having tested.

It's not the case that you know you have covid and therefore test. You test to find out whether or not you have covid.

Definitely in June 2022. As I tested and was positive.

Possibly in September 2023, didn’t test but felt bloody awful the same way as I’d done the previous year. I was on holiday and had to travel home while suffering. Also possibly in March this year. And I might have forgotten another instance :hmm:

But pretty sure I’ve only tested positive for it for one bout but have had it or something very similar at least three times.

Then vote that you've had two positive tests. Your post covers the 'think I've had it more' bit.

Sorry you've had it at all 😞

i still qualify for the 'never officially had covid' category.

i had something flu-like in early february 2020 so it's possible i did the hipster thing and had covid before it was mainstream.

i also had something that matched a lot of the symptoms of whatever variant was going around in autumn 2021, i went for a PCR test at the drive through place, got a negative result by text message, then a few weeks later got another text to say the test had been done at the dodgy lab that was giving false negatives but it was too late to do anything about it by then.

i had something fairly nasty before xmas last year, but tested negative twice. i'm still getting occasional post-viral crapness from it.

I'd forgotten about the dodgy lab and its false negatives. Sorry you were affected.

Hope your post-viral shite lessens++

Once. Had already had a jab. Was really fucking ill for 2 weeks, with fatigue lasting another week. No lasting effects, thankfully.
Exactly the same for me. I was on a covid vaccine trial and I think it failed! Two weeks of being iller than I've ever been in my life, a week of exhaustion and then - thank God - fine. I have had viruses since but nothing like that.

Twice both confirmed. First was pre-vax and wasn't too bad. Lingered for a while though. Second was 2022 and I got it on holiday in Ibiza. Absolutely killed me for 2 weeks. Couldn't get out of bed and if I did I'd have to sleep for 4 hours.

once for definite, in the summer of 2022. Second time almost certainly, just before Christmas last year but I didn’t Test. however my Mate did, and I’d been out for a drink with him the night before I was feeling rough. More than just the drink might explain.
