Hand sanitiser - please report any stocks you find!

Our work is in the hand sanitizer market and we're hearing a lot of companies are in the process of bringing over massive quantities from Turkey and China in the next fortnight. We passed on it because it won't have the same testing and certification as ours.
That's interesting. I'm in Turkey and bought two small bottles of gel today. Just checked the label. Doesn't say the % of alcohol.

The school where I've been working this week cannot get any hand gel. Obviously as a potential hub for spreading infection, it's more important for schools to have it than for you as a private individual to have it. So if you find any supplies of it, and are able to buy any, don't.

No, vodka is only 40 percent so still under.

Tho I wouldn't use my Bruichladdich X4

I haven't got any - I use soap - but I'm trying to source some for two bars I work at.

Want to know this too. I've not been able to score any portable hand sanitizer stuff yet but I have purchased big box of .. these.

They are tiny little things but i hope they are a good solution for wiping down the (non waterproof) phone when I've used it out before handwashing?

I had a few of these in my first aid kit but they all got used up on monday thanks to several kids very selfishly deciding to hurt themselves and need wounds cleaning. These things are tiny so it's at least two to clean my own hands and then a few more to clean even a minor graze.

I also struggled trying to mix aloe vera and 99% iso.

My solution is mix iso with water so you end up with 70% strength and then use the aloe vera to moisturize your hands afterwards.

Soaps more effective if you wash your hands properly. Hand sanitizer is only really good if you cant wash your hands immediately or if people are unlikely to wash their hands for example visiting hospitals. People think hand sanitizer is really effective because they see it in clinical settings. But it's only any good as a stop gap until you can get to wash your hands properly. It's better than nothing by a long way but it's nowhere near as good as washing your hands properly with soap and hot water.

This. Multiple times. Hot water and soap is the greatest protection. Gel is fine as long as your hands aren't dirty but don't get too reliant on it in place of soap for a proper wash.

I popped out for a paper earlier in a chain of mini supermarkets. They were advertising small bottles of sanitizer @£6.99 a pop

I don't bother buying that shit. I don't need it at home and my work has plenty, even though the smell sickens me and I hate the cold slimy feel of it and I despise how everyone using it means that all kinds of surfaces end up being covered in the shit. Fuck hand sanitiser.

We had dispensers on the door at my last workplace around the time of one of the previous outbreaks (bird flu possibly). When they took them out a few months later they were giving away the poly bags of alcohol gel to anyone who wanted one, I took a bag. Probably about a litre of the stuff with a little plastic tap built into the bag, but fucked if I can find it amongst all the crap I have in the cellar.

i have another 10L here in 2 x 5l tubs, also more on order.

I have been also helping the supply of delivery drivers too.

There is 77% liquid at £79.83+vat for a 5litre

or

super concentrate gel 88% alcohol at £23+vat per litre

This seems totally legitimate and doesn't feel like profiteering or a scam at all.

There are still listings on eBay for

Surgery-Clean-SC1-Antiseptic-Hand-Rub-Hypoallergenic-Soterel-_1.jpg

Surgery Clean SC1 Hand Rub

It's a non-alcohol based antiseptic and antiviral - it DOESN'T evaporate like the alcohol based hand rubs and you need to use it sparingly and rub it in - like blood, a little goes a LONG WAY

It contains Soterel - which according to:-

Seems to be a "thing" that is good

One thing to be aware of is the web site (certainly on the 2 Ltr bottle I got) is now defunct, which is surprising given the current state of things . . . so, maybe, it's an elaborate scam . . . I don't know.

You pays yer money and you takes yer choice

I'm not using mine much since I put a hand-washing station just inside the front door ... I also use it to wash my face masks which I then hang in the south-facing hedge.
