GB News: a thread so you never have to watch it

Entertainingly unflattering profile of Calvin Robinson in the Times
Calvin Robinson: the anti-woke cleric too reactionary for GB News - Times (archived)

This bit made me LOL.

“Fame is nothing to be aspired to,” he insists. The only “reward is that you’re able to do good, or you’re able to be a voice for people that don’t have a voice”. This certainly sounds pious, but I only have to glance down at my cup of tea resting on its Calvin Robinson coaster to doubt his sincerity. Later, when I use his bathroom, I discover that Robinson has a painting of himself hanging over his toilet — a revelation that provokes the strange thought that whenever he relieves himself, he does so gazing upon his own face. This is hardly a symptom of saintly humility.

From the same episode... Someone at GB News is clearly having fun with these.

He's right about Johnson with some of the things he said there though :) very perceptive. Shame about the frothing though.

As with so many of his ilk he mixes real phenomena with absolutely bonkers ideas. I'm still yet to see the "enthusiasm" for lockdown the conspiraloon lot bang on about, let alone the use of it to permanently enslave The People (and we're still waiting for that vaccine apocalypse of course). I've seen a whole bunch of anti-protest and anti-strike laws which they don't seem to care at all about though.

the lockdowns- all the things the state did- were reluctant, delayed (maccy dees and tescos closed their doors before the first lockdown happened) , feeble and with bad grace- yet because for the first time since they were eating from the kids menu someone told them 'no, you must do this which you don't want to do, because of public health'- tyranny. 1984. That film with Jude Law and the gun-kata.

hmm can see this being a clear out of GB news

you know bojo going to turn it all into GBoris Johnson news I expect scenes :)

Gatica. He was in Gatica.

it's only the letters of the 4 DNA bases. No I.
An absolute classic.

Equilibrium was the terrible film with the gun-kata.
And Christian Bale, who is no Jude Law.

Agree however it would probably be followed by "Woke OFCOM" headlines in the right wing press and the Tories reacting to that by promising to "reform" OFCOM

Perhaps the smarter thing would be to wait another 12 months until they've racked up more upheld complaints, and a Labour government comes in with no interest in their survival.
