top trolling

isn't Disney woke hell though?
Yes. see below

BTW this is a UK source but probably sumarises the situation in as balanced a way as you are going to get

Keeping the roof over his head... In Disneyland :D
Tbf, I stopped reading when I spotted 'woman sues for painful wedgie on ride' appeared.
Sacked GB News star goes to Disney World after asking fans for cash

Grifters gotta grift

“We are raising funds to keep a roof over his head so that he can maintain his self-supporting ministry in London. We are also raising funds for a potential legal battle. Dcn Calvin will not take this one lying down!”
With lots of spare time on his hands post-sacking, he posted a plane selfie telling his followers: “Off on a pre-arranged preaching trip. A good excuse for a break away from a crazy week.”

He took the time out of the trip to visit Disney World Florida spending most of his time it appears pretending to be Han Solo and visiting Pixar sections of the theme park.

Though I wouldn’t pay much attention to X users being quoted in GB News’ articles, as just last week the channel published a report on Fiona Bruce apparently being accused of ‘bullying, anti-Tory bias as she badgers MP EIGHT times for answer.’

Attempting to give the claim some credit, the report cited a post by the parody account Sir Michael Take, who wrote: “Conservative MP Richard Holden answers Marxist Fiona Bruce’s question 8 times. Yes 8 TIMES. Yet she continues to violently bully him. “This anti Tory sexist misogyny by BBC presenters such as Bruce, Munchetty, Kirkwood, Winkleman etc. MUST STOP NOW!”

You would have thought the reporter would have noticed the blatant sarcasm, but then again, it is GB News, so maybe not.

:D

Did she threaten to overrule him?

Tories are such fucking rightwing snowflakes these days. Paxman badgered Howard 14 times and it wasn't a big deal

Off the "GB news" topic of the thread, sorry but I get annoyed every time I see the wedgie headlines because it feels like I am being played by PR and it reminds me of the overall quite successful "litigation culture gone mad" PR efforts around the Mc Donalds coffee lawsuit back in the 90s.

Like the the spilled coffee lady, the "wedgie" lady's injuries required hospitalisation and were quite horrific ("McGuiness' injuries included "severe vaginal lacerations," damage to her internal organs and a "full thickness laceration" that caused her bowel to "protrude through her abdominal wall," her lawsuit says.") and yet somehow they are being presented as worthy of mockery.

To some extent there were similar PR efforts when Pret were fined for an incident were an employee was locked in a freezer.

Bet they're loving this on there!

A spokesperson for Presiding Officer Elin Jones said the decision was taken following a recent broadcast which was "deliberately offensive".
They said Senedd members and staff could watch GB News online. Tory Senedd group leader Andrew RT Davies called it and "censorship" and GB News presenter Nigel Farage called it "totalitarian".

You say that but John Knox stormed off Robin Day for being told he was a here today and gone tomorrow politican

Excuse me! That was John Nott MP, Secretary of Defence during the Falklands Crisis and war.
As interviewed by Robin Day - maybe the best interview journalist to work for BBC (and earlier ITV).

John Knox was - I thought - the founder of the Church of Scotland.

Really? He was a twat. But I suppose, compared to Dimbleby, Bruce, et al he wasn't so bad.
Day's twatness can't compare with GB News obviously.
I was in the audience of a Robin Day Question Time at the Greenwood Theatre which is where Question TIme used to be filmed in the 1980s.
Robin Day exuded bon homie - but then perhaps you don't like bon homie?

I'm sure he did exude bon homie. Doesn't make him any less a twat. But sure, he was a shining beacon of goodness compared to the current crop, especially GB News. That's not saying much though.

Attitudes change though the general trend in caliber in my lifetime feels downwards.

As to Robin Day thought Barry Waldon was better

Yes I know its Brian but I'm typing these from memory ffs. Oddly Have had a conversation about the bloke responsible for Hogmany more recently than wellvthe other fella what ever his name was

I posted this on the Laurence thread in error.

And, still no news as to if Dan Wootton has been sacked.

Not surprising as he set his lawyers on various news websites, to get them to take down articles about him, which would explain why GBN has not confirmed what action they have taken.

The fact that the slime-ball hasn't appeared on GBN, nor posted on twatter, since this all blew up, would suggest his career is basically over. :)

"Bon homie"!

Are you sure it wasn't a recording of "Round the Horn" and could you be confusing Robin Day with Kenneth Williams "?

No it was this. "Round the Horne" was a 60s thing. I was still at school (pre O-level).
I should add that even in those days Question Time's 60 minutes of live TV was pre-recorded. About 8 pm, and the audience only "released" when the producer was satisfied.
It seems that now the show is live on the iPlayer at 8pm and broadcast at 10.45pm.
Wonder if anything has gone wrong? I watched it "live" last week and it was pretty seamless. Of course Fiona Bruce is lacking the bon homie of Robin Day and the audience - which used to be invitees from traditional local parties now seems to be selected by an outsourced opinion firm to be 54% Brexiters, 0% Lib Dems and 0% Greens.
GB News lite in fact.
That is not to mention the panel - now packed with the person representing the Telegraph, Spiked, the Institute of Economic Affairs etc. Robin Day didn't have to contend with fascist think tanks and journalists thank God. Though he might have made mincemeat of them as a former Liberal Party candidate.

Sounds like it was quite capable of 'going wrong' even when shown later on the main channel:

But apparently Lee Anderson interviewing Braverman wasn't a breach

In this case, Ofcom considered that this programme met these requirements by including an appropriately wide range of significant views on the matter of immigration and border control, which were given due weight.

GB News deployed a range of editorial techniques to achieve this.
:hmm:

The presenter and another speaker read out statements from an individual and organisations which interspersed, and challenged the views set out by the Home Secretary in the interview. During the panel discussion, two panellists, representing differing political perspectives to those of Suella Braverman and Lee Anderson, were able to challenge comments made by the Home Secretary and express a range of alternative views.

Given this, Ofcom did not consider that the programme raised any issues warranting investigation under the Code.

On the plus side. There's another 12 cases still open.

Ofcom has 12 further investigations open into GB News which it is working to conclude as quickly as possible, in line with its published procedures.

I actually watched a bit of that out of interest, because there was some fuss before it went out, with GBN saying it was going to be balanced, and TBF it was, I thought at the time that they had put just enough effort into it to avoid getting into trouble with OFCOM.

What a bloody joke. How on earth they are still allowed to broadcast eludes me.
