Freeman-on-the-land idiocies

In the Mail article the bloke claims he’s already successfully contested two previous motoring/ parking fines. Which sounds like utter bullshit :D
If they were for private car parks he probably has but he could have enjoyed the same success by completely ignoring all communication from them. I don't really know what's behind it (I guess either the fines aren't legally enforceable or they just don't want the hassle of taking customers to court) but nothing ever seems to happen with private parking fines in my experience.

So insane it’s gripping. Do feel a bit for her but I can well imagine a long prior of stupid leading up to it. There’s people with all sorts of horrendous acts of inhumanity committed against them by the “system”, who are not wilfully bringing it on with this stuff.

I usually find that sort of thing too painful to watch for long. I can't help but exclaim fruitlessly at the screen that's not how it works!

I get that these people can be desperate, but I still find it flabbergasting that they are so willing to gamble their homes on the mere say-so of some total strangers over the internet. If it was my home on the line, I certainly wouldn't take Terry Shit-Arse on Telegram at his word, even if I did think he was on to something. I'd want corroboration of some kind that didn't come from just another self-appointed expert online.

What strikes me is how they keep clinging on to this crap even when it leaves them marooned on the shoals. Maybe the fact that the police were present during the eviction is a big fat clue that you don't need to verbally consent to being evicted? I mean I would have thought it obvious that the bank already know who you are, and also that the whole thing would never work if people could just get out of paying by saying no.

As for the stuff about placentas and the Vatican and your weight in gold; that stuff is just so wildly off-base to how things actually function that it's in the realm of what Richard Feynman called "not even wrong".

It's a bizarre sort of libertarianism that seems to rely on there being a 'magic' way to compel state institutions to give you millions of pounds for no reason.

Bits of libertarianism, bits of mysticism, bits of conspiraloonery and bits of “this one weird trick…” internet scammery all combined into a set of cargo-cult promises that satisfy both a burning greed and a yearning for moral and intellectual superiority.

Wish I’d thought of it first.

Does explain why my mate who ate her placenta can’t get a mortgage. :hmm:
When Mrs Q had Eldest, the midwife told her that the placenta would get put in a freezer and would be sold to a cosmetic company.
When Eldest had Grandson 1, the midwife told her that if she brought in a tupperware then she could take it home to cook if she wanted. Eldest reckoned if she laughed any harder, the baby would have popped out there and then. She declined the offer though.

It’s just so sad. Whether we think she’s been stupid or not, a family home has been taken away, kids are not seeing their mum, and all so some cunts can play at being the source of special knowledge on the internet.
It’s mind mind bending, and yes no one deserves that. Her life could literally be ruined beyond repair. Not just the “experts”, but the social media companies racking it in off the back of them.

I think this man has a lot to do with it (he cropped up during my FOTLER experience.)

I met a guy recently, lovely bloke, really friendly and welcoming - knew everybody. We were working in the day and then went for a drink and he started giving me all this stuff. "Did you know that police use what's called legal language and if you say you understand the charges then you're essentially pleading guilty? And I've got police mates and even they don't know about it, it's so secret, but that's what they are doing?" "If you get a birth certificate for your child then you've actually consented to them being governed by all of these laws? Same with the census, there are questions in there that are coded and if you answer them then you're agreeing you can be arrested. Parliament can't make laws, they can only make Acts of Parliament and if you don't consent to them then they don't apply to you..." etc etc.

It was weird cos he seemed like a really sound bloke up until that precise moment.
