For Badgers: Liverpool FC 22/23

Steel Icarus

we move
Well. Sure as day follows night and at the end of each storm there's a golden sky, a new season is almost upon us. People leave, for pastures new or the great burger van in the sky, but many are still here.

Will - can - 22/23 come close to the monumental achievement of being essentially two games shy of a quadruple? Is Nunez the answer to a question I'm not sure anyone asked? Will Harvey Elliot break through and become the new Coutinho or merely the new Shaqiri? Who else do we need, and who else do we not?

Also - first friendly against Manchester United of all teams...

I'm delighted Salah stays. He's been incredible for years; tempting to get on his case when he dips from astonishing to superb from time to time. This is as good or better than any signing we could have made.

Normally don't get excited about the Charity Shield, but it's on telly (ITV), and I'm in Rome for the next two weeks so I'm likely to miss rhe Fulham game (Mrs o87 will probably frown on the idea of wandering around looking for the one pub in all of Italy that'll be screening it) so this'll be the only match I'll be able to watch (legally, anyway) for a while.

Still, we're getting dicked anyway...

:D

Have thought Alexander-Arnold should play at right half because of his crossing, crossed it neatly into the goal  . Good game.

Not a disastrous result considering how not at it we were. Can't afford too many like that though. Positives include another good performance off the bench from Nunez and, er...

Another injury though to Thiago, list of laid up players getting long

It’s a bit worrying. We seem to have a lot of players bedding in atm. Top 4 is realistic.

It would help if bedding in didn't involve headbutting anyone...

You'll still finish second comfortably IMO and not far behind. The problem is obviously that Man City are so relentless that you can only afford a couple of draws in a season against the likes of Fulham and Palace to stay in contention.

Views on the headbutt? I was listening oil Talksport and expected it to be way worse; imo the backwards headbutt he tried a few moments before was much more intentional.

Dem Uruguayan players love a headbutt or a bit of Bitey action.

It was foolish. And he's in my Fantasy football team the fool!

It was pretty hilarious watching it on Sky. They replayed it afterwards and showed him shouting at the ref, getting his attention and then turning round and headbutting the defender. Amazing. God knows what he was thinking.
