First Official Portrait of Kate Middleton

This is something that undoubtedly be buried or ignored in the thousands of column inches of reporting that will ensue, but it deserves to be discussed publicly. Even if it was Kate's decision to keep her diagnosis private (and let's not be cunts about it, everyone even a member of the Royal Family deserves at least the option to choose whether to disclose such confidential medical matters), the Palace handled it horrendously bad and deserves to be taken to town on it.

And if the decision to keep the diagnosis secret was actually 'encouraged' on her, then they are not just useless but callous class-A cunts. I don't need to be a conspiracy theorist to suspect that it is almost certain the idea of releasing a badly collaged Photoshop image of Kate, now clearly taken many months in the past, for Mother's Day was not Kate's doing. What kind sadistic, weirdo cunt does that?? What the fuck is wrong with the people managing the Royals?
Have a look at their salaries - they’re on Glassdoor, £21k to £25k in London.

The photoshop wasn't that bad and would be barely worthy of comment if it wasn't for misunderstanding the standards press agencies maintain.
Apparently the press agencies have been nodding through royal handout photos for years - it was the public scrutiny of this one that forced them to scrutinise it themselves and react with a 'kill' order to protect their own repuation.

The palace PR on this whole business has been abysmal. Those who give the orders are probably paid quite a fair bit more than the minions who carry the orders out on a salary of "£21k to £25k" for inner London.

Home run post. Spot on

It was horrendously badly handled and shows up what a corrosive institution the royal family is even to its beneficiaries.

I don't wish her ill, but my concern lies with those who have to struggle through chemo terrified about the mortgage or rent, watching their heating, unable to feed themselves a nutritious diet, because of the disgusting inequality of our system, a system for which she is an enthusiastic figurehead.

Agreed with all those expressing sympathy. I've been fighting for two years for surgery for what is probably a similar issue - probably not cancerous, but apparently they thought hers wasn't either - and somehow I doubt she had to wait any time at all.

But I want us all to get better treatment, not royals and other rich sods to be brought down to how we're treated.

Oh and it makes it even more obvious that the couple at the farm shop were two random other people.

Have a look at their salaries - they’re on Glassdoor, £21k to £25k in London.

Unless that's including accommodation and bills, it's highly unlikely to be 21k, given the minimum wage for a full time job at 40 hours pw is £23,795.

The Royals are exempt from quite a bit of employment legislation but I don't know if that includes minimum wage.

Could be 35 hrs pw would put it under 21k. Some jobs are on site ones but you’d think not the comms ones

The monarchy has pretty much been non functioning for the past few months.
No comment from the King about Palestine... or has there??
No comment from other Royals either although I think William did say "too many dead" a couple of weeks ago .. after it was clear that 30000 were dead

At a time when there surely must be millions of people in the UK who will be undoubtedly marching and protesting...and many who have family members in Palestine, the main Royals are ill and out of action or busy with taking care of the ill members. And nobody is asking for a comment.

Surely now the Monarchy is going to be seen by many more people as pure useless and a waste of tax payers money.

Yes to all of that. I'm not exactly on team Spooky, but cancer ain't a leveller. In some, perhaps a lot of cases, the rich will get the same medical treatment, but everything else is different.

I too don't wish her ill as an individual, fuck, she's got young kids. But the institution is vile.

Edit: 'core treatment' is probably more accurate.

I knew they pay housekeepers around £24k but it seems sometimes it's worse Buckingham Palace is offering below minimum wage pay for a live-in housekeeper

While 'normal' households pay up to £40k Live in Housekeeper Job in Richmond upon Thames | Greycoat Lumleys

The first one doesn't look unreasonable (for 2022) with the correction that the accommodation, food and bills are provided in addition to the salary, not with a deduction.

The second one looks absolutely amazing!

silas, maybe your youngster would reconsider cleaning jobs for this one!

Minimum wage for a job that isn't paid at minimum wage anywhere else in London is pretty unreasonable! How rich are the royal family and they don't even want to pay living wage?

Everything else isn’t different though. Money doesn’t stop you having to have awful conversations with your children. Or them being terrified their mum is going to die.

Kate chose to become a member of the firm. Her kids didn’t.

I'm sure the royal sycophants will now be having a pop at the 'where is...?' speculation, despite the fact that it was the palace's fault in the first place thanks to a dreadful PR failure.

Also a husband of the year award surely on the cards for the man who made his ill wife take the fall for the photoshop fiasco. maybe it’s a symptom of the institution that is the royal family?

I expect that soon we will soon start to hear that it has brought the nation together, caring and concern is on the up, and soon she will be the new princess of hearts.
