First Official Portrait of Kate Middleton

Do photo agencies really 'kill' photos just for a bit of photoshop tidying up? Or would it have to be a significant change to the reality of the photo?
Probably because twitter noticed it, the agencies had to stop them.

The AP notice was certainly genuine, they seem to pride themselves as sticklers to certain conventions.

Not quite as good as the Titanic submarine but this is an early contender for hilarious news story of the year
Made all the funnier as the "story" is just that an arrogant, entitled person with far too much money and privilege is not as good at photoshop as they thought they were.

I think this whole thing is the press being pissed off with the royal family not telling them what's wrong with Kate. They're getting their own back! They feel they own the royal family, and are entitled to know every single thing about them.

They turned on Megan and Harry when they tried to stand up for themselves, now they're doing it to the Waleses. It's very funny to watch two revolting institutions having a bunfight.

The face from Kate's corpse is being stiched onto her replacement lizard. These harley street doctors are good but it does take time to get it right. I'm sure the new kate will be great. Long live the king :)

So… everybody that was telling us the other day that this is just an artefact of what modern camera phones do, and no reason to think it’s anything other than Google Best Shot (or whatever it’s called), and it happens to me all the time too when I take photos, and etc etc… that isn’t the case now, is it? Because even the lizards are saying that yep, they actually photoshopped it.

And given that they actually uploaded it to an Apple Mac to fuck around with it in Photoshop, all bets are off. At that point, it could be what Xitter Forensic Investigator Squad X are saying, which is that it is a Vogue cover shot and the clothes are from November and the tree shouldn’t have leaves and blah blah blah. Because the one thing we know is that the picture is something created in Photoshop, which means it could be anything.

I don't think you're right this time - the UK press happily published the picture and accepted the narrative. Then a number of global press agencies who aren't part of the Royal family - tabloid press co-dependent psychodrama decided this was obviously fishy and pulled it. If it had been left to the British press this would all still be a social media conspiracy theory.

i still want to know if this was photoshopped

Yes, it sounds like they tried to do manually what those things try to do automatically, probably to get one with them all smiling at the same time.
