Filth by name. . .

Serving Metropolitan Police officer, PC Ben(jamin) Bunsell from Greenwich, who serves as part of their Central South Command Unit in Lambeth and Southwark, has been found guilty at City of London Magistrates’ Court of one count of stalking without fear, alarm or distress after bombarding his former partner with calls, texts and WhatsApp messages despite being told numerous times to leave her alone.

PC Ben(jamin) Bunsell sent more than 770 messages to Natalie Jundo after the pair split up in June 2023 and it was also alleged that showed up at her home address:

PC Ben(jamin) Bunsell was suspended from duty after he was charged and the Metropolitan Police said its Directorate of Professional Standards was made aware.

PC Ben(jamin) Bunsell has been bailed with conditions not to contact Ms Jundo and not to enter the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham ahead of his sentencing on 18 January 2024 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

This is just completely disgusting:

The footage is that recently released by the Independent Office for Police Conduct in relation to the ongoing trial of the Metropolitan Police's PC Jonathan Marsh of Ferrymead, Canvey Island, a member of their East Area Command Unit, who is currently on trial accused of one count of assault by beating during an incident on 13 November 2022 at around 6.39 p.m. in Atlanta Boulevard, Romford, when police were called to reports of criminal damage. The man being struck and handcuffed by PC Jonathan Marsh is audiologist Rasike Attanayake, who had reported that a drunken man had smashed a notice board outside his audiology practice.

The police handcuffed Mr Attanayake who pleaded that he was the one who called them, as PC Jonathan Marsh tells him to 'get on the f***ing floor now' and throws Mr Attanayake to the ground.

The clip shows Mr Attanayake saying 'please can you not do that' before PC Jonathan Marsh then punches Mr Attanayake in the head and restrains him further.

Giving evidence, Mr Attanayake told the court: 'I phoned the police and then I went inside doing other things.

'I said my friend is being attacked by a drunk and disorderly white man.

As this is an ongoing criminal case, the trial of PC Jonathan Marsh will resume at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 29 January 2024.

I think that's wise.

What I will say is that the quality of driving licence photos are not great, going by the one on my licence, so using photos of that quality for feature recognition will undoubtedly lead to false positives and false negatives.
The quality is one step up from the Glastonbury ticket photos

"More than 1,100 police officers across England and Wales are under investigation for sexual or domestic abuse, prompting fresh calls for vetting and misconduct procedures to be radically overhauled.

Of these, 180 – almost one in seven – have been allowed to carry on working as normal despite the severity of the offences. Of the 1,151 officers under investigation, 428 have been placed on restricted duties, with another 378 suspended ..."

This is pretty disgraceful - why are people still working? In the private sector depending on the circumstances one is looking at a suspension while the investigation is underway at the very least.
and some jpbs won't let you cobtinue full stop, depending on the sector.

Someone with the wherwithall (not me) could do a FOI request to see how many risk assessments have been carried out on those 11000 officers. My guess is they've done fuck all. The arseholes.

Serge Forward unless there's multiple officers from each force that has such officers suspected of a crime AND the release of the information can be anonymised so that the identities of the police officers cannot be deducted from the information released, that's probably not going to yield much that's useful.

An FOI to the Met might be successful, given it's the largest force and bound to have a large number of these officers (meaning data could be more likely successfully anonymised)

Which is rather swift, positive news for a change .

Likely only thanks to the wonders of modern technology.

The charges of assault, non-fatal strangulation and actual bodily harm against North Wales Police officer PC Richard Williams follow the release on social media in May 2023 of footage of an incident in a front garden that was filmed in Porthmadog, North Wales on 10 May 2023, and the resulting investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

One clip shows two police officers - one male and one female - sitting on top of a suspect who is lying chest down on a lawn.

Initially, the male police officer has his forearm around the man's neck, but the police officer then allegedly swings his clenched left fist nine times in quick succession into the side of the man's head.

In the clip, moments before the male police officer allegedly starts throwing punches, a man's voice can be heard shouting: "Stop resisting!"

As the alleged assault begins, the woman filming the arrest gasps and cries out: "Oh my God!"

She then throws open the window and shouts over to the police officers.

The suspect - who is barefoot - can then be heard groaning incoherently amid more shouts of 'Stop resisting!' as the male police officer tried to handcuff him while his female colleague tells the suspect to calm down.

A second clip lasting seven seconds shows the bloodied suspect allegedly looking shaky while being escorted into a police van.

The footage of the incident was viewed nearly half a million times within 24 hours of its occurrence. Speaking at the time, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin said:

'The video that is circulating of the arrest of a male in Porthmadog is concerning.

'As Police and Crime Commissioner, I take such incidents seriously and will work with the police and other bodies to understand the circumstances behind the footage and act accordingly when the facts are established.'

A Black social worker, Edwin Afriyie, was tasered by police and suffered a head injury as a result, after being stopped driving home. He was briefly uncounscious. He was handcuffed while incapacitated; the cuffs were only removed after it was requested by medical staff.

Afterwards, he experienced severe headaches and other unpleasant symptoms. A psychiatric report says he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression after the incident, and he has had suicidal thoughts. He was off work for three months. Mr Afriyie is suing City of London Police.

Black social worker Tasered by City of London police treated like ‘wild animal’

A youth worker, who was shot by police with a stun gun when he had his arms folded, has been given permission to appeal the claim for damages against the police which he lost last June.

The high court had ruled that the City of London Police officers “honestly believed” shooting Edwin Afriyie with the stun gun was necessary, but the appeal argues that it was unlawful and that the police failed to follow the guidelines for its permitted use.

The officers claimed in statements that Mr Afriyie had "adopted a fighting stance" before they tasered him, but their own body-worn camera footage showed that "his arms were folded and he was standing at a distance from them." Isn't that called lying?

Lord Justice William Davis wrote that having seen the body-worn footage, he believed an appeal had a real prospect of success, and that there was a “sensible basis for arguing that [the judge] fell into error”. The case is expected to be heard at the appeal court early in 2024.

Leader of police chiefs organisation says policing as a whole is 'institutionally racist'

Whilst this is not a surprise to anyone on this thread, it's quite eye-opening that someone senior is standing up and staying yes, the whole of Policing is institutionally racist.

Now let's see what will be done about it.
