Filth by name. . .

More details about the incident where a 13 year old with a water pistol was arrested - several youngsters caught up in the incident still having nightmares and trauma-induced responses whilst the IOPC refuses to investigate, despite being asked to twice by Scotland Yard

Police Scotland PC Kyle Cruikshank found guilty of a five year run of behaviour including racist, sectarian and sexist/misogynistic abuse, sentence deferred until next month:

Apparently unaware of the impact his words had on those around him. I can't even.

In an update to the Metropolitan Police's activities with children in Hackney, a 13 year-old boy was surrounded by armed police after an officer mistook his water pistol for a real gun.

The child was "rammed" off his bike by a police van and handcuffed as he was confronted by marksmen in Hackney, east London, in July, the Alliance for Police Accountability said.

"We know it may cause public concern and we want to help the public understand why we responded in the way we did ...

... according to the College of Policing, officers "should treat all firearms as real and loaded until proven otherwise".

The Metropolitan Police referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, but the Independent Office for Police Conduct told the Metropolitan Police to investigate the Metropolitan Police. The Metropolitan Police cleared the Metropolitan Police of any wrongdoing. A public complaint was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, alleging racism. The Independent Office for Police Conduct again directed the Metropolitan Police to investigate the Metropolitan Police ... but the Independent Office for Police Conduct, having "reconsidered" its decision, has now taken the complaint back to investigate ... independently:

"In the light of the mother’s statement yesterday, and the concerns that have been expressed by the local community in Hackney and more widely, we’ve reconsidered our decision and will now investigate this independently."

Former PC8793 Nathan Brown, who was a 'Police Constable Degree Apprentice' made offensive comments about Jews, Black people and women, would have been dismissed from Northumbria Police without notice if he had not already resigned in July 2023.

A misconduct hearing heard how PC8793 Nathan Brown had made "discriminatory, sexist and racist" remarks while in the presence of other officers. These included telling one officer "I just want to work in traffic so I can pull Black people for no reason".

"In respect of former PC Brown, we find that the appropriate sanction had he still been a member of the police force would have been that of dismissal without notice."

He started the course on 22 Sept 2022 and was making these sexist racist and just plain offensive comments as early as 7 October. He's a delight.

I note the 'daek humour/just a joke' defence, was used unsuccessfully. Again.

Is there a shred of hope that his offensive views were picked up and reported very early into his training?

As for the dark humour, it’s possible to use dark humour without being offensive, usually by using dark humour in a self deprecating way.

Although my view of comedy and jokes in the workplace has always been, save my innate comedy genius, such as it is, for when I’m with close friends, keep it professional at work and try and set the standards that I’d want to receive as a customer.

Yes, I read the report and he was challenged by his fellow trainees pretty much from the start. As you would expect he produced excuses such as 'i forget I can't say stuff like that anymore' and 'it's just my dark humour, I was in the army'.

I myself am a purveyor of dark humour but I generally don't trot it out a) offensively and b) to people I have just met. Time and place...

Do be serious. At least as far as it achieving anything.

In a way, the opposite happens - I imagine some trainees will wonder "what am I getting myself into here?" and perhaps bale out. But if the "undecided" read the runes, and learn that bad attitudes aren't just punished, but tacitly encouraged, well, that's how you end up with a rotten and corrupt police force.

I got a letter from the police the other day, I opened it and read it, it said they were liars...

This was interesting, at least from the report, he was being openly challenged by several different recruits whenever he said something. I think the report said on one occasion the class was given a thorough lecture on what conduct was supposed to be and professional standards and within a short period of time the offender said something racist or sexist.

At the very least the professional standards talk was being taken very seriously by the class with the exception of him, and the rest of the class clearly understood that they had to challenge him or else face their own questions about conduct.

Perhaps there's hope? 🤷‍♂️

Yesterday, the Metropolitan Police's former PC Daniel Humphreys of Chipstead Valley Road, Coulsdon, appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of misconduct in public office.

Former PC Daniel Humphreys is charged with misconduct in a public office in that it is alleged that between July 4 2019 and November 21 2021, while acting as a Metropolitan Police officer, former PC Daniel Humphreys engaged in an inappropriate personal relationship with a vulnerable female who he had met while investigating an alleged domestic incident in which she was the complainant.

The second charge alleges that between July 4 2019 and November 21 2021 while acting as a Metropolitan Police officer former PC Daniel Humphreys obtained information from the Metropolitan Police Service computer systems for a non-policing purpose and shared the information with a person who was not a police officer.

PC Daniel Humphreys, who was based at the Metropolitan Police's central north command, was placed on restricted duties in June 2022 and has since resigned. He has was given bail until his next court appearance at Southwark Crown Court on 23 October 2023.

Former Metropolitan Police constable, PC Daniel Humphreys, who is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a domestic violence victim, pleaded not guilty to two counts of misconduct in a public office when he appeared at Southwark Crown Court earlier today.

Former PC Daniel Humphreys was unconditionally bailed to next appear at trial which was set for 21 July 2025 (according to PA).

Former Sergeant Daryl Edmunds jailed for six months for misconduct in public office. Shortly after joining the police in the late 90s he initiated a relationship with a teenage girl who had reported a crime.

Judge Kidd said that at the time, Edmunds was, “a man of sufficient intellect and moral compass” to recognise the vulnerabilities of people in the community. She described his behaviour to the young woman as, “predatory and exploitative”, and, he, “used and abused her vulnerabilities with no thought to her well-being at all.”

Having pleaded guilty to over 160 charges of blackmail and child sexual abuse, former PC Lewis Edwards refused to appear for his sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court yesterday ... and again today.

Excuse my ignorance, but is this a recent thing - the defendant having the right to refuse to appear in court?

There's no right to refuse but some cunts refuse to leave their cells and the prison has no power to physically drag them into court.

They usually just get sentenced in their absence, no doubt with a couple of years added on by the pissed-off judge/magistrates.

I think at present the way are set up there is no way to compel someone to appear for their sentencing and some are taking advantage of that. There was talk after Lucy Ketby of making it so the defendant must appear for sentencing but you know how slowly the law moves.

Personally I think they should have to appear for sentencing - refusing to appear is usually the action of someone trying to exert one last bit of control after everything has been taken away from them. Control freaks going to control...

I'm waiting to see the risk assessments for this and of course the legal wrangling this would bring about, especially if either a defendant or a member of Prison service staff were to sustain a life changing or fatal injury in a restraint due to this hate-wank Selfservative playing to the crowd debacle.

ETA I've seen the fall out of an life changing injury sustained in a justified but badly done restraint in a Medium Secure NHS Psych unit it was goling to be VERY expensive for the trust even if the staff involved didn't get charged / professionally disciplined
