Filth by name. . .

Met failed to investigate sixth suspect in Stephen Lawrence murder.
This is fucked up:

I found his last criminal conviction was an assault in summer 2020 in a shop on Well Hall Road, Eltham - the same street where Stephen Lawrence was murdered.
I located the victim, a black man who had not previously known about White's connection to the Lawrence case.
He described challenging White - a shoplifter - after he entered the premises, leading to a confrontation.
White then assaulted the victim, made threatening and knowing references to Stephen Lawrence, and referred to his associations with other violent people.
White threatened him, saying, "Remember you're in Eltham, remember where you are, remember what happened to Stephen Lawrence. I can call my boys, they can come down and they can deal with you."
He says White mentioned Stephen Lawrence "in almost in every threat" - at least eight or nine times - and referenced that it happened at the nearby bus stop.
White said the victim would be "Stephen Lawrenced" and then attacked him.

time to charge cressida dick with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice

Fuck Eltham and the evil (still) there

Whenever I went to Eltham I felt this David Lynch type undercurrent of menace. Some years after Stephen's murder when it was once more in the news (for reasons I can't recall, but perhaps a reinvestigation of certain elements...) I was on the top deck of a London bus going up Regent Street. The bus had come from the Eltham area. A couple of thugs started talking intentionally loudly, using racist language and saying stuff like how Stephen had it coming to him. It was incredibly scary how they felt so impowered. That's the legacy of this shit.

Considering this has been proven to lead to more dangerous offences, surprised how light the penalty is.
I'm not, sadly
ETA. Although after reading tony.c's comments I more disgusted that people are still being arrested around known cruising areas. Although, let's face it, waving your willy at a police officer is probably not the best idea. Especially if one is also a serving police officer

Definitely, I felt that menace going through there on the bus in the 90's/00's and I wasn't even a target

Former Chief Constable of Cleveland Police in misconduct hearing for allegedly making unwanted sexual remarks to colleague.

James Boyle, a police officer with Cambridgeshire Police when he raped an underage girl, has been jailed for 16 years.
He did ok with his criminal practice, the street where he lives is in a well sought after part of Edinburgh. He should have paid a lot more than £4500 towards prosecution costs.

A former Leeds police officer is accused of sexually abusing two children.

David Crossley, 59, was a PC for the West Yorkshire force when the alleged offences were reported in 2020.

A jury at Leeds Crown Court heard the girls did not know each other but reported similar incidents of abuse.

He denies indecent assault, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, sexual touching and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Former Chief Constable of Cleveland Police in misconduct hearing for allegedly making unwanted sexual remarks to colleague.

Mike Veale is the only person listed on this thread who not only has his own wikipedia page but has had a debate about his misconduct hearing in the House of Lords.

When these particular allegations arose he resigned from his position as Chief Constable of Cleveland. That was in January 2019, so nearly four and a half years ago. After a two year investigation it was announced that he would face a misconduct hearing. That was in August 2021. Twenty two months later a date for it has been set.

Is this just "the establishment" protecting their own? It seems a trifle more complicated and bizarre than that.

Prior to being Chief Constable for Cleveland he was Chief Constable for Wiltshire, where after he "spunked up the wall" over £1.5 million pounds on 'Operation Conifer', fruitlessly investigating allegations that Ted Heath was a paedophile, his contract was not renewed. A faction of Tories has been actively gunning for him ever since. But not just Tories. The delay in holding this misconduct hearing has been criticised a number of times in the House of Lords by both Tory and Labour peers. He has racked up an impressive number of 'establishment' enemies and media critics.

On the other hand he still has friends. In 2021, while still under investigation, he scored a very well paid gig as an advisor to the Leicestershire PCC Rupert Matthews, who then promoted him to interim chief executive of his office. This was greeted with some incredulity, for example in that Lords debate last year

Lord Lexden (Con) : Meanwhile, Veale lives the life of Riley on £100,000 a year as adviser to the so-called Conservative PCC for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, who must have taken leave of his senses.

He finally resigned from this post in February this year.

Veale is also, as far as I'm aware, the only one of those in charge of the many VIP paedophile police investigations who has had links with the conspiraloon elements in "the establishment". Not just his former boss Rupert Matthews, the author of over 170 books "on history, ghosts, cryptozoology, UFOs, paranormal activity" etc, but also that bastion of common sense, ex-Tory and now Reclaim MP, Andrew Bridgen, of 'covid vaccines are the biggest crime against humanity since the Holocaust' fame.

Fair to say that this misconduct hearing will attract some interest.

Some other Lancashire Police cases 2023:

PC Graham Salt dismissed after inappropriate behaviour to female trainee.

GMP PC Thomas Woods dismissed after conviction for possessing child abuse images.

12 allegations of violence against women made against Lancashire police officers. 4 are being investigated.

Former PC Harty faces misconduct inquiry over domestic assault.

Not the worst thing the Met has ever done on this thread by a long shot, but still pretty egregious:

I imagine the exchange went something like this:

'You confiscated the publisher's phone and laptop, yes?'
'Yes, but we didn't download any data'
'Really?'
'Yes, not a sausage of data'
''So you deny downloading data from the phone SiM''
'oh THAT SIM, didn't realise you meant that SIM card, yeah, we might have downloaded a soupcon of data from that'
'how much is a soupçon of data, exactly?'
'um....all of it? But it's ok really '
'How the fuck is it ok?'
'we didn't actually look at what we downloaded'
'really'
'yeah totes'

Update on the Donald Burgess killing.

He was in his own room (in a wheelchair, with one leg). What threat he posed to anyone apart from perhaps himself is beyond me

Two Sussex Police officers may be charged with manslaughter.

Jesus. And there was me thinking that the Australian taser case could not be beat. It's right they should face manslaughter charges.

But Christ, have these people no experience of dealing with people with dementia at all?

Derbyshire Police getting in on the 'we didn't do our job' action:

Two teenage girls report a male teaching assistant is being inappropriate with them. Despite the school calling the police, it takes five years and two more victims coming forward before he is convicted and jailed for a total of 2 years.

One of the first to complains feels guilt for not being able to prevent later victims from being targeted.

When questioned, Derbyshire apologise 'for service falling short of expectations ' and unspecified technical issues (one assumes in forensic examination).

Epic, Derbyshire.

Mike Veale found guilty of gross misconduct.
