F1 2022

I thought they changed the rules after the Jules Binachi’s fatal crash to make it compulsory for a red flag if there was machinery on track

Much more interesting and exciting race (last 5 laps notwithstanding) than the last 2-3 weekends have been. Looking forward to a couple of weekends off now though before Singapore.

Another real-time decision that ignored the rules. At least, this time, there wasn't an intervention from Red Bull begging the race director to fix it.

Having a quick look through the sporting regulations it appears that they didn't change the rule about equipment on track being a red flag

It was a recommendation from the inquiry but was never adopted, it seems.

Yes she has got a lot of stick from people who claim Sky only employed her to tick some boxes, but I think she brings a lot to the show
Well, exactly. Just because she might 'tick some boxes' it doesn't necessarily mean she can't be good as well.

And she is.

Poor Alex but sounds like he's on the mend.

Williams driver Alex Albon suffered respiratory failure and was treated in intensive care following appendix surgery at the weekend.

The 26-year-old had an operation on Saturday but suffered "post-operative anaesthetic complications" and was put on a ventilator.
Thai Albon came off the ventilator on Sunday morning and is now back on a general ward in Monza, Italy.

Williams say he should return home on Tuesday.
