I'm trying to help you here. Your understanding is wrong. At least one of the alleged victims very definitely did want him charged with rape.

i have to say this again, torture - psychological or not - is not the same as interrogation, which was your initial claim. he is not being at this very moment interrogated by agents of the state. it may not be nice for him inside, it maybe downright awful, but that should be put in an argument for prison reform pending the abolition of such institutions if you're so exercised about it.
