You don't handle your phone at all when using these, it's basically integrated into the infotainment system and run from the car controls on the steering wheel. it is vastly safer. My phone never leaves my pocket in the car. And only apps useful for drving such as satnav or audio can be used.

I've always found texting is pretty easy at motorway speeds. It gets a bit trickier over 100mph, but not much.
