Donald Trump, the road that might not lead to the White House!

My hope is that, should he win the nomination, Trump would alienate far too many people to win. He's far more offensive and foot-in-mouth than Bishop Romney who fell foul of this dynamic (though he was notably up against an incumbent)

The problem is that a democrat opponent may alienate as well, Clinton has traits and baggage that can alienate, Sanders would be despised by the media.

If Trump does win the nomination, what percentage of republican voters do you think will fall behind him? I can't see many of them switching sides to the democrats, so I guess that means a fair few people choosing to stay at home come the election?

In case you haven't seen it. Here's Obama ridiculing Trump at the 2010 correspondents dinner. This was back when Trump had PIs in Hawaii looking for Obamas birth certificate.

Trump is in the audience and looks PISSED

That's an interesting video. Trump sitting there stony faced and seething while Obama makes him the laughing stock of a huge audience. He probably isn't used to that, and like all narcissists no doubt has a very fragile ego, makes me wonder if that event might be a huge motivating factor in his run for President. Kinda like the "singer" headline in Citizen Kane.

ABC World "news" gives 80 times more coverage to trump than sanders.

Report: ABC World News Tonight Has Devoted 81 Minutes To Trump, One Minute To Sanders

DT is being FETISHISED, a very common practice with right wing demagogues. The establishment will always prefer to give attention to a hard-rightist than a socialist, even if it is sometimes masked in a comedic outlook.

The extreme position can makes fairly harsh conservatism look reasonable by contrast.

It's worrying that he actually believes he's electable!

How would you think he'd fare in the event of a large terror attack on the US? If Daesh got their timing right they could put him in the whitehouse and advance their cause massively. Idiots gaining support in the wake of a terror attack is not unprecedented. Bush II, Le Pen...

While I find it worrying that a large number of Americans find comfort in the Shyte he is espousing, I think in the event of a serious terrorist attack most politically aware Americans would see him as the cause of any such attack.

Being born with a silver spoon and privilige and shit, he is remarkably short on tact. The kind of one liners he is pumping out on twitter re the Saudis, may come across as gung ho and populist, but he will be ripped apart by the machivellian fucks he will have to deal with around the globe.
