along with the bickering about videosScrolling past one video is easier than scrolling past a video endless posts bickering about videos - maybe the videos could go behind spoiler tags?
It's not hard at all. I use the scroll wheel on my mouse. It’s hard to scroll past what is essentially a worthless tabloid headline tbf - put it in spoilers if you must post it
Or I’ll start responding with Sunday Sport headlines.
In the video did Trump officially announce his plans to change elections?I think people are taking the anti-video thing a bit far. In this case yes the thumbnail is over the top. But the title isn't click bait at all and the video itself is, well, just kind of fine. It had the sort of over the top delivery that is common in America but it's only 8 minutes long.
What it basically says is Republicans will carry on their voter suppression tactics, but things like suppression of post in votes could actually harm them and that Trump can't cancel elections or fundamentally change how they are run.
I pretty much agree with all that, the second point is debatable but it is not presented as a hard fact, just a possibility It doesn't really say much interesting but it's not bad really. It is part of a content mill to make money, but that's oftern going to he the case these days.
Is there a way to post links to YouTube videos as a text link only without the thumbnail? That might help I think.
No it's more Trump rambled about election changes. But I still don't think the title counts as clickbait on its own. The thumbnail absolutely does though. In the video did Trump officially announce his plans to change elections?
Too confusing, I think the spoiler tag idea is a good one personally.Separate thread for them?
awaits a chorus of nagging disapproval for telling someone that you plan to ignore themYou're going on ignore
Of people want that they can just subscribe on YouTube.Yes spoiler's good, although separate thread on Midas Touch videos would collect them all together.

Sorry I can't see this I'm ignoring it.awaits a chorus of nagging disapproval for telling someone that you plan to ignore them
I am not a spam cannon, how dare you? I don't only post from TMT, but so what if I did? The vids I post are not trash content farms. The people I watch are relevant and experts in their field, which includes lots of lawyers, political scientists and journalists.Thing is a lot of videos have been posted on this site for a very long time, some really important, some fucking funny, and its never been a problem till now because there was always a level of self moderation involved. Now we have 1 person acting like a spam cannon for trash content farms and the good stuff risks being lost in the sea of trash.
The Meidas Touch is releasing 15-20 videos a day and pulling in between $150,000 to $350,000 a month from this shit. it's fucking spam.
His announcements in that article are truly bonkers, and while we may laugh at many of them there will be an effect on us so we really should be concerned.beeb coverage
Trump vows end to birthright citizenship and pardons for US Capitol rioters
He tells NBC he will issue "a lot" of executive orders, including on immigration, once he takes office.www.bbc.co.uk
sadly they've got vote they voted for - especially with that electoral college bollox. trouble is, the orange maggot and his zealots will seriously fux over the rest of their population and the world while implementing project2025.
I'll have you know that I used to have a pleb to clean my mouse balls back in the day!A mouse with a wheel on it? Bourgeois.

I've not watched any of breadandcircuse's videos (nor am I likely to), so I don't know whether they're good or bad. But it'd be nice if people stopped banging on about them. It's more disruptive to the thread than the videos posted. As long as they're not far right, fash cunt, etc, videos then it's really not worth the mither.
Depends if you consider his ramblings on Faux as an announcement. He has said it previously too, and it fits in with the whole Project 2025 shit.In the video did Trump officially announce his plans to change elections?

Since I don't work for ICE, it'll be the same way everyone else gets to distinguish; by seeing them on a news clip wailing on about "this isn't what I voted for!" when it is precisely what they voted for so as far those sorts of ladder-pullers is concerned, I have zero sympathy. HTH, smartarse. And how will you distinguish between them?
The voice of reason.I've not watched any of breadandcircuse's videos (nor am I likely to), so I don't know whether they're good or bad. But it'd be nice if people stopped banging on about them. Back when I first joined the politics boards the focus was on discussion, that's not to say there weren't bunfights but there were real political discussions over tactics, ideology history, etc. I really did learn quite a lot from posters like butchersapron , Louis MacNeice etc.Well, contradictory as that sounds, I'm with large parts of both of these. Threads in Politics/Current Affairs on Urban have a shared assumption that there's an argument going on, a case being made or information added. Videos can be part of that, as can news links and longer articles. Videos are fine.... provided they are part of a case/argument (and if long, with some direction as to the relevant bits). I don't see Meidas Touch as really delivering that as they are made for entirely partisan purposes, as an anti-Trump PAC and, as mentioned, to make money. I think the Tories are neoliberal scum who have enriched themselves and their mates and couldn't lie straight in bed... but I wouldn't post Labour Party videos to make that case.
It sometimes feels like this whole place has lurched in an infantile tabloid direction - twee nicknames like Faux for Fox or whatever is the latest unfunny sobriquet for Trump is another example
