Toddling down to Homebase to pick up a swivel chair, as the crappy kitchen chair I have in front of my PC keeps falling apart and depositing me on the floor. Which is not conducive to work.

Another one of these:

Sadly the first one got left on the hob and almost burned the whole place down last night. Everything still smells of smoke.

Took me about three evenings and a lot of swearing to put together after work.

Looks great in place of the two old crappy overflowing book shelf and cheapo argos dvd units.

ooh, what are they made from Mogden? I wouldn't mind something a bit like that but just bowls iyswim.

there was a set of 4 or 5 bowls similar colours and stacking sizes in WIlkinsons. microwavable plastic, looked niice enough

i bought a battery powered pink skull light from tesco. its mean to be a halloween decoration, but i'm using it as a bedside light

My Mum turned up at mine today burdened with a whole load of items she'd randomly decided to buy/give me - so I now have a bottle of very expensive Olive Oil she brought back from Italy, new calico curtains and cushions, a new double duvet and Egyptian Cotton bed linen and a very fine antique russian pen and ink drawing which she bought many years ago in Helsinki and which I've long admired

House of Fraser have a Joseph-Joseph designed combo of "cut and carve" and "chop to pot" chopping boards in red for only £13.80 (reduced from £20) in their Blue Cross Sale.

I succumbed to kitchen designer fetishism in Oxford Street the other day.

whats a "cut and carve"?
I got the chop to pot a while ago but the suface scratches really easily so i've not used it much since...

we stayed at my friends this weekend and it's inspired me to sort our place out - I'm looking for a big mirror, some air dry clay to repair and old mirror and a pigeon shaped lamp.

It's a high chair for the baby.
I knew someone who had one, the ability to adjust the sitting height over the years and being able to sit the child at the table with everyone else was the nice thing. I didn't even have enough room for a table to eat at so I never considered one myself but I was impressed with the practicality of it all the same.

pics!! Old and New Kitchen

it's just about done, finishing touches tomorrow.

very pleased with it, and it only took 5 days for the ukranian boys to rip out the old one, and install the new one:)
