they have them in the Lovely Things deptartment in selfridges (in the basement)

I like it down there.

I'm some eager beaver today and went and got some Christmas baubles :hmm: I got white ones, clear ones, massive clear turquoise ones, and some silver droppy ones. They had fuck all pink and purple ones though

I also went into SKK to get one of those cat lights up there, but they didn't have any. Instead, the old bloke in there gave me a really long lesson and demonstration on how to make battery powered LEDs for a (soon to be) illuminated mirror I've got, and then gave me the string of them we made gratis. Which was nice.

I got a projector from work, for free. I also got a rather large canvas wheeled it home propped on my bike pedal. We are now watching TV on a 70" screen.

The other thing I'm looking for is a doormat. Our hallway's blue, and I can't find any doormats that will go with it - they're all hideous. :(

my trusty NAD tuner that I've had for 15 years or so finally died last week, and so I did a charity shop scour. Oxfam in Streatham high Rd turned up this beauty for £10.

Wahay! They're weird in there. Sometimes you can get a good bargain, and other times they ask way, way, way over the odds. Once I went in to buy a table and they wouldn't sell it to me too

I had that once in there. they had a gorgeous G-plan sideboard they wouldn't sell it to me, saying it had just come in, thought it was priced (£60). And I thought, well so what if it's just come in, it's priced, so I can just take it away. I went back about 2 days later and it had a 'sold' tag :( though i got a nicer one off ebay for £17 :)

I just got this for 99p because the seller had it listed as a sperm lamp

I think I'm going to put it in my Space Odyssey bedroom, but I want a floor lamp to go next to my sofa. I think I want one of those old ones with the three lights you can point in different directions

In the near future I have to decide on a print for my living room. It's gonna take up a large proportion of the chimney breast (which is kind of the main wall IYSWIM) so I have to be sure

It's a choice between this, which I posted a while ago

Or this

The first one is my preference, but it's going to be a bugger to find a high enough quality image to print from. I really like the second one, and it'd be piss easy to get printed, but I think it's a bit grown up, and it won't go with these letraset guns I've got on the other wall.

Any ideas?!

I really like the second one best, to be honest.

I got some little stone animals yesterday. There is a hippo, a rhino and a lion, they look like they could originally be Kenyan or Tanzanian? They are really heavy and have a lovely presence. I did promise myself not to buy any more stuff but I might give them to my sister for her birthday.

This Joe Joe nested bowl set which I have coveted for ages, http://www.josephjoseph.com/preparation-bowls/nest-8,

A glass lemon juicer like dodgepot posted a page or so back cos I've wanted one for ages too and I think it's the Eames chair of the kitchenalia world. Also a beautiful Wusthof Classic boning knife. It says flexible boning on the box *snort* :D

Daft really cos I bought it all from where I work but I've been umming and arrring about it all for yonks.

oooh, they are pretty too.

melamine is a type of plastic - not microwavesafe. generally used for camping gear. not sure I'd have it in my kitchen....

Melamine is that tough stuff, sometimes picnicware is made with it and is shiny but my bowl set is pretty matt. S'not microwaveable as crustychick says but I think they're too nice to blast with radiation anyways. I have used at least piece from the set daily since buying them so I think it's a worthwhile investment. Those Lakeland ones are similar but shinier.

yeh, I'm not sure about the shininess.. matt ones do look a bit nicer. I've already got measuring bits, a lemon squeezer and a sieve, so fancy just a bowls set... I might make a trip to Lakeland and have a look at them

will power ;)

haven't got the cash to buy things I don't really need atm. I just want to get this for my brother and maybe those bowls... hmmmmmmm.
