Just get what you like and wear it anyway! Be glam for the supermarket!

Aye, I make sure I'm fly for work and the shops, but even sitting in my chair at home. Makes me feel better about all the shite out there.

Well, obviously I am rocking my existing wardrobe wherever I am ;) It's just...buying new stuff makes me think of all the things I love to do, that I can't do, which makes me too sad to shop.

Having said that, I did buy a dress and a jumper from Cos yesterday, so we'll see.

Needed a good pair of walking boots, and have spent weeks trying to find some that fit my size 5.5, wide and very sensitive feet, whilst being both waterproof and breathable. Was starting to think it was a fucking impossible ask, given that having half sized feet makes me somewhat of a pariah in the footwear world :mad::mad: BUT, just got these bad boys, and on first fit, they were actually comfy! Now gonna wear them around the office for a couple of weeks, see if they remain so.

I paid £100 not 150 for them, and that's well spenny for me, so they'd best work out.

The boots look comfy sojourner. Looking at the site I'm tempted to buy some new gloves because I've got rubbish circulation in my hands. The same price as the current Rab gloves several years ago (although they were actually free because the person at the till failed to scan them).

Oh they look the dog's! I have a brill pair of gloves that I bought last year, with a little zip on the back of the hand that you do up to fit them tighter once they're on.

The current ones are fantastic - pre-curved to match the natural curve of your hands at rest, and lovely and warm although not waterproof. I'd definitely recommend Rab gloves - hopefully the ones on the link above are as good as my current ones. It's always odd that those type of gloves are badged as mens - hands are hands, and a range of sizes would cater for everyone.

Have ordered the gloves alongside a down jacket.

I have a few down jackets which are too hot to wear outside because I am a sweaty bastard, so I'm always on a quest to find the goldilocks one. If nowt else I can wear it as a housecoat to reduce the heating bills.

These are the boots I wear. They're brilliant. I'm on my second pair in nearly 12 years - and only needed new ones cos my feet grew half a size. Best walking boots ever.

Ooo that's good to know Rebelda :) Can I ask a stupid question? Is there an easy way of releasing the laces once they've locked into position? Scared I'm gonna rip the gubbins off the boot when I take them off. Also, are yours waterproof, as they claim to be? Loads of the reviews I've read complain they're not, so I was just gonna Nikwax them before going out in the rain.

On the wearing-in, I'm finding they rub slightly on one ankle, but that may be over-zealous lace-tightening.

Got this today

The RAB gloves have arrived and are lovely and comfy. I'm hardly going out because of what's going on so won't use them much this year, but always good to have gloves in for when you need them.

Men - where would you recommend for a really good quality fleece jacket? I've looked at Finisterre - £130 - way too much. North Face are between £60-£100 - that's more like it. I could just get something cheapo from Sports Direct but this is for gaijinboy whose wardrobe is still made up of items he had when I met him - nearly 20 years ago. He doesn't do shopping - so I might as well get him something long lasting and decent.

Try the outlet shops of the big retailers online if they do online sales as they might have stuff they're trying to shift - all of them probably have mountains of stock they can't sell quick enough. Otherwise one of the outdoor shops might be worth a look.

I've got several fleeces from various places, but bought an insulated hoodie earlier in the year. Ridiculously warm and around £70. The zip does up the wrong way though - no idea why, but it vexes me each time I wear it.

bought this top from ebay, found a seller that just does vintage shell top/jackets. it's a silk blend, reminds me of raving tops circa late 80s/ early 90s.rave top 1.png

quite like this but it's listed in mens but the shape of it shouts women's to me?
