Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

I’ve just ordered 12 dresses off simply be to find one for a wedding reception in April.

I ideally want sleeves and I need to be able to wear opaque ish tights but they don’t have to be black. I also don’t want to wear heels.

Oh and I have to find out what both brides are wearing because I know it’s not white so there’s a big risk of turning up in the same colour as brides or bridesmaids.

Fucking hell. [emoji1]

ETA-I’m hoping I find something that’ll go with leopard print ankle boots because I want an excuse to buy some.

God you are good at thinking ahead, I have a wedding next Saturday and have absolutely nothing to wear. I hate everything anyone suggests and I have no desire to celebrate given the proximity of the wedding to my dad dying a few weeks ago. What could possibly go wrong when I panic shop next week?! :D

Understandable that it’s not really been on your mind!

I will worry about it until I start looking and it could be weeks of order/return and repeat so I should get started now. Plus I’m bored and wanted to shop. [emoji1]

I can’t really decide on anything until I suss out the colour scheme from a mutual friend.

I don't normally panic buy except when I went to gsv's brother's wedding, when we'd only been together about 18 months and my future in-laws were not my biggest fans, so with about a week to go I suddenly panicked that the outfit I'd bought (a skirt and top which weren't a set but worked OK together) wouldn't work and would be seen my future MIL as not smart enough and therefore reflecting her (erroneous) idea that I was this confidence-lacking wallflower that everyone would find a terrible disappointment. I remember the first outfit, the second was some kind of prom dress thing that I felt much happier about.

Just go for neat and inconspicuous then. I don't get the impression anyone is going to expect you to turn up in a flowery dress.

Absolutely everything I bought today is going back to the shops tomorrow. It infuriates me that in every shop I seem to be a different size, especially in trousers. Going well so far. :D

Check out British retro, Lindy bop, collectif, voodoo vixen- they all do plus size dresses in wiggle or 50' prom style - but you will almost definately find something to go with leopard print ankle boots! :D

This coat from Joe Browns, because sod fashion/good taste, I like lurid things. Also, of my two mid-weight coats, the lining of one has come apart (not worth fixing as I got it at a clothes swap and it's just a high street one) and the other one is a bit small for me to button up. Also it was £26 in sale down from about £80.

I'm in need of a makeover/intervention when it comes to clothes but I can't tell you how much I hate the act of shopping (and I'm not sure I have the energy in me tbh), does anyone know somewhere with good (preferably free) personal shoppers?
